Scope1.1 This specification covers the gene

3、ral requirements forfaced thermal insulation boards composed of rigid cellularpolyisocyanurate surfaced with other materials. The insulationboards are intended for use at temperatures between 40 and200F (40 and 93C). This specification does not covercryogenic applications. Consult the manufacturer f

4、or specificrecommendations and properties in cryogenic conditions. Forspecific applications, the actual temperature limits shall beagreed upon by the manufacturer and the purchaser.1.2 This standard is intended to apply to rigid cellularpolyurethane-modified polyisocyanurate thermal insulationboard

5、products that are commercially acceptable as non-structural panels useful in building construction. The termpolyisocyanurate encompasses the term polyurethane. Forengineering and design purposes, users should follow specificproduct information provided by board manufacturers regard-ing physical prop

6、erties, system design considerations andinstallation recommendations.NOTE 1See Appendix X1 for guidance on determining wind pressureresistance of panels when required for wall sheathing applications.1.3 The use of thermal insulation materials covered by thisspecification is typically regulated by bu

7、ilding codes, or otheragencies that address fire performance. Where required, the fireperformance of the material shall be addressed through stan-dard fire test methods established by the appropriate governingdocuments.1.4 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas standard. Materials and Manufac

37、ture6.1 Cellular MaterialRigid polyisocyanurate thermal in-sulation boards shall be based upon the reaction of an isocya-nate with a polyol, or the reaction of an isocyanate with itself,or both, using a catalyst and blowing agents to form a rigidclosed-cell-structured polyisocyanurate foam. The insu

38、lationfoam core shall be homogeneous and of uniform density.6.2 Facer MaterialsThe facers incorporated into the de-sign of the faced thermal insulation board for this specificationshall be applied in the original manufacturing process and shallbe as follows:6.2.1 Aluminum FoilAluminum foil is plain

39、or coatedaluminum foil, or foil laminated to a supporting membrane.6.2.2 Glass Fiber Reinforced Cellulosic FeltThis felt shallconsist of a cellulosic fiber felt containing glass fibers.6.2.3 Coated Polymer-Bonded Glass Fiber MatThepolymer-bonded glass fiber mat shall consist of fibrous glassmats bon

40、ded with organic polymer binders and coated withorganic polymer, clay, or other inorganic substances.6.2.4 Uncoated Polymer-Bonded Glass Fiber MatThepolymer-bonded glass fiber mat shall consist of fibrous glassmats bonded with organic polymer bonded binders.6.2.5 Perlite Insulation BoardThe perlite

41、insulation boardshall conform to the material and physical property require-ments specified in Standard Specification C728, either type 1or type 2 may be used. The perlite insulation board may beeither the12-in. board listed in Specification C728, which hasa higher core density and modified formulat

42、ion (as agreed uponbetween buyer and seller) than the thicker products, or may bea12-in. thickness (available only to manufacturers of laminatedrigid foam products) of the34 to 3 in. formulation perlite boardlisted in Specification C728.6.2.6 Cellulosic Fiber Insulation BoardThe cellulosic fi-ber in

43、sulating board shall conform to the material and physicalproperties requirements specified in Specification C208.6.2.7 Oriented Strand BoardThe oriented strand board(OSB) shall conform to the material and physical propertiesrequirements specified in U.S. Voluntary Product Standard PS210 or Canadian

44、Standard CAN/CSA O32507.6.2.8 PlywoodThe plywood shall conform to the materialand physical properties requirements specified in U.S. Volun-tary Product Standard PS 1-09 or PS 210 or CanadianStandard CSA O121-08 or CSA O151-09.6.2.9 Glass Mat Faced Gypsum BoardThe glass matfaced gypsum board shall be

45、14 in. (6.4 mm) thickness andshall conform to the material and physical properties require-ments in Specification C1177/C1177M.7. Physical Properties7.1 The thermal insulation board shall conform to theproperties stated in Table 1. Foam thickness and facer type,thickness and permeance can all influe

46、nce the magnitude ofvalues measured for physical properties listed in Table 1. ForType I and II (except Type II, Class 4), a 1 in. (25.4 mm)product with the facers on has been described in Table 1 toestablish compliance with this specification. For Types III, IV,V and VII, a product with 1 in. (25.4

47、 mm) foam has beendescribed in Table 1 to establish compliance with this specifi-cation. The average value of the tested specimens shall be usedto determine compliance with the requirements. For informa-tion about the number of specimens and the precision of theresults, consult the specified standar

48、d test method used.7.1.1 The physical properties stated in Table 1 shall not beused as design or engineering values unless this recommenda-tion is made in writing by the product manufacturer. It remainsthe buyers responsibility to specify design requirements andobtain supporting physical properties

49、documentation from eachproduct manufacturer and supplier.7.2 Thermal Resistance (R-value)When ordering, specifythe R-value; thickness shall be specified if there is a specificthickness requirement and R-value is not specified. The valuesspecified shall be for the faced insulation product only, andshall not include any additional thermal resistances fromreflective facer surfaces and adjacent air spaces or from othercomponents of the building system. The mean thermal resis-tance of the material tested shall not be l
