General Requirements6.1 The following sections of Specification F877 and Speci-fication F2769 constitute a part of this specification. Only thesections of the referenced standard which ap
18、ply to the type ofpipe being tested shall be required as part of this section.6.1.1 Requirements,6.1.2 Test Methods, and6.1.3 Retest and Rejection.6.2 In addition, when a section with a title identical to thatreferenced in 6.1 above, appears in this specification, itcontains additional requirements
19、that supplement those appear-ing in Specification F877 or Specification F2769 .6.3 GeneralAll performance tests shall be performed onassemblies of fittings, clamps and PEX or PE-RT tubing.Clamps shall meet the material and dimensional requirementsof this specification. Metal insert fittings shall me
20、et thematerial and dimensional requirements of Specification F1807.Plastic insert fittings shall meet the material and dimensionalrequirements of Specification F2159. PEX tubing shall meetthe requirements of Specification F876 and PE-RT tubing shallmeet the requirements of Specification F2769.Assemb
21、ly of testspecimens shall be in accordance with 9.1.1. Each assemblyshall contain at least two (2) joints. Use separate sets ofassemblies for each performance test requirement.7. Dimensions7.1 Dimensions and TolerancesThe dimensions and toler-ances of clamps shall be as shown in Figs. 1-4 and Table
22、1 andTable 2.8. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance8.1 The surfaces of the clamps shall be smooth and free offoreign material. Clamps shall be free of cracks, holes,corrosion, voids, foreign inclusions, or other defects that arevisible to the unaided eye that have potential to affect the clampintegr
23、ity.8.1.1 The manufacturer shall verify that any residual manu-facturing substances on clamps are compatible with PEX andPE-RT System components such as PEX and PE-RT tube orinsert fittings.9. Assembly9.1 Clamp JointsInsert fittings shall be joined to PEX orPE-RT tubing by deforming and locking a st
24、ainless steel clamparound the outer circumference of the tubing, forcing thetubing material into annular spaces formed by the ribs on thefitting. Metal insert fittings shall meet the material and dimen-sional requirements of Specification F1807. Plastic insertfittings shall meet the material and dim
25、ensional requirementsof Specification F2159. PEX tubing shall meet the require-ments of Specifications F876 and PE-RT tubing shall meet therequirements of Specification F2769. Clamps shall meet thedimensional and material requirements of this specification.9.1.1 Clamping ProcedureThe clamping proced
26、ure shallbe as follows: slide the clamp onto the tubing, insert the ribbedend of the fitting into the end of the tubing until the tubingcontacts the shoulder of the fitting or tube stop. The clamp shallthen be positioned on the tubing so the edge of the clamp is18to14 in. (3.2 to 6.4 mm) from the en
27、d of the tube. Theratcheting clamping tool shall be used to close the clamp. Thetool will not release until the clamp is properly closed.Ratcheting hand tools shall conform to the dimensional re-quirements of Fig. 3.9.1.2 Clamping ToolsClamps and ratcheting hand toolsfrom different manufacturers hav
28、e similar appearances.Clamps shall be installed using the tools and calibrationmethods recommended by the clamp manufacturer.10. Retest10.1 If any failure occurs, a retest shall be conducted only ifagreed upon between the purchaser and the seller. Failure in theretest indicates the quantity of clamp

The manufacturer furtheraffirms that when clamps so marked are used in accordancewith this specification to secure PEX tubing conforming toF876 or F877 and PE-RT tubing conforming to SpecificationF2769 to ins
36、ert fittings conforming to Specifications F1807 orF2159, the assembled joints will conform to the performancerequirements of this specification.13.
