Images may be in either simplex or duplex format as defined in ISO 6196-2. Either format can be used in either the lower (A) channe
7、l or the upper (B) channel. For single channel use, the lower, channel A, is more often used. In two channels, channel A along the bottom edge of the microfilm and channel B along the top edge. Image marks start from the start of the film in channel A, run with increasing count to the end of the fil

12、g edge of the document image, whichever is selected as the reference edge of the document image, measured parallel to the edge of the microfilm, shall be uniform within 0,15 mm throughout the roll of microfilm.” Page 3, Subclause 4.4 Renumber the existing subclause 4.4 as subclause 4.5, Spacing. 13、e 3, Clause 5 Immediately following the heading of Clause 5, insert a new subclause 5.1 with the following: “5.1 Types of image mark Image marks shall be either single size marks throughout the microfilm, or small and medium marks throughout the microfilm or small, medium and large marks throughout
14、the microfilm. The latter two options allow more sophisticated searches. Medium and large marks as a combination is not recommended.” Renumber the existing subclauses 5.1 to 5.3 as subclauses 5.2 to 5.4, respectively. Replace the text of the newly numbered subclause 5.4 with the following: “5.4 Imag
15、e mark positioning An image mark shall be positioned such that it at least covers an area that is not greater than 1,02 mm from the edge of the microfilm to not less than 1,86 mm from that edge. It shall not extend more than 2,16 mm from that edge (see Figure 2).” Page 4, Subclause 7.2.2 Replace the
16、 text of subclause 7.2.2 with the following: “7.2.2 Start codes Start codes shall comprise one or more image marks. Each mark shall be at least 8,7 mm long and preceded by a space equal to or greater than the length of a small image mark.” Page 4, Subclause 7.2.3 Replace the text of subclause 7.2.3 with the following: “7.2.3 Stop codes Stop codes shall comprise one or more image marks.
