3、his specification2covers chromium-molybdenum alloysteel plates intended primarily for welded boilers and pressurevessels designed for elevated temperature service.1.2 Plates are available under this specification in severalgrades having different alloy contents as follows:Nominal NominalChromium Mol

5、de 91 consistsof two types, with Type 2 differentiated from Type 1 byrequiring restricted composition for the enhancement of creepresistance.NOTE 1Grade 911, previously covered by this specification, is nowcovered by Specification A1017/A1017M.1.4 The maximum thickness of plates is limited only by t

6、hecapacity of the composition to meet the specified mechanicalproperty requirements.1.5 The values stated in either inch-pound units or SI unitsare to be regarded separately as standard. 16、ux CoredArc Welding3. General Requirements and Ordering Information3.1 Material supplied to this material specification shallconform to Specification A20/A20M. These requirements out-line the testing and retesting methods and procedures, permis-sible variations in dimensions and weight, quality and

17、repair ofdefects, marking, loading, and ordering information.3.2 In addition to the basic requirements of thisspecification, certain supplementary requirements are availablewhen additional control, testing, or examination is required tomeet end use requirements. The purchaser is referred to theliste

18、d supplementary requirements in this specification and tothe detailed requirements in Specification A20/A20M.3.3 If the requirements of this specification are in conflictwith the requirements of Specification A20/A20M, the require-ments of this specification shall prevail.4. Manufacture4.1 Steelmaki

19、ng PracticeThe steel shall be killed.5. Heat Treatment5.1 Except for Grade 91, all plates shall be thermally treatedeither by annealing, normalizing and tempering, or, whenpermitted by the purchaser, accelerated cooling from theaustenitizing temperature by air blasting or liquid quenching,followed b

20、y tempering. Minimum tempering temperaturesshall be as follows:Grade Temperature, F C2, 12, and 11 1150 62022, 21, and 9 1250 6755 1300 7055.1.1 Grade 91 plates shall be thermally treated, either bynormalizing and tempering or by accelerated cooling from theaustenitizing temperature by air blasting

21、or liquid quenching,followed by tempering. Grade 91 plates shall be austenitized at1900 to 1975F 1040 to 1080C and shall be tempered at1350 to 1470F 730 to 800C.5.2 Grade 5, 9, 21, 22, and 91 plates ordered without theheat treatment required by 5.1 shall be furnished in either thestress relieved or

22、the annealed condition.5.3 For plates ordered without the heat treatment requiredby 5.1, heat treatment of the plates to conform to 5.1 and toTable 2 or Table 3, as applicable, shall be the responsibility ofthe purchaser.6. Chemical Requirements6.1 The steel shall conform to the requirements as toch

23、emical composition shown in Table 1 unless otherwisemodified in accordance with Supplementary Requirement S17,Vacuum Carbon-Deoxidized Steel, in Specification A20/A20Mfor grades other than Grade 11.7. Metallurgical Structure7.1 Austenitic Grain SizeGrade 2 material shall have acoarse austenitic grai

Mechanical Requirements8.1 Tension Test Requirements:8.1.1 The material as represented by the tension test speci-mens shall conform to the applicable requirements of Table 2or Table 3, as specified on the order.8.1.2 Adjustment of the percentage elongation requirementsis permitted in accor

25、dance with Specification A20/A20M forplates up to34 in. 20 mm inclusive, in thickness when an 8-in.200-mm gage length is used.9. Repair Welding9.1 Repair welding shall be permitted only with the ap-proval of the purchaser. Repair welds shall meet the require-ments of the construction code specified

26、by the purchaser.9.2 All repair welds in Grade 91 shall be made with one ofthe following welding processes and consumables: SMAW,A5.5/A5.5M E90XX-B9; SAW, A5.23/A5.23M EB9 + neutralflux; GTAW, A5.28/A5.28M ER90S-B9; and FCAW A5.29/A5.29M E91T1-B9. In addition, the sum of the Ni+Mn contentof all weld

27、ing consumables used to weld repair Grade 91 plateshall not exceed 1.0 %.10. Marking10.1 In addition to the marking required in SpecificationA20/A20M, each plate shall be legibly stamped or stenciled,depending upon the ordered thickness, with the letter A forannealed, N for normalized and tempered,

28、and Q for acceler-ated cooled and tempered, as applicable. Grade 91 plates shallbe marked with the appropriate type. Plates ordered to, andconforming to, Type 2 may be marked Type 1 as well.11.
