Scope1.1 This specification covers commercial mic

3、rowave ovens.These ovens use ultrahigh frequency electromagnetic radiationin the approved industrial, scientific, and medical bands todefrost, heat, and cook food.1.2 LimitationsThis specification does not include alltypes, sizes, groups, styles, and classes of the commoditiesindicated by the titles

4、 of the specification, or that are commer-cially available, but is intended to cover the types, sizes,groups, styles, and classes that are suitable for general require-ments.1.3 Oven Selection And ApplicationPrior to the use of theclassifications given in 4.1, the user agency should ensure theyare n

5、ot restricted by some aspect of the microwave oven designsuch as a weight or external dimension limitation that wouldprevent the unrestricted use of the classifications given in 4.1.1.4 Microwave Oven AvailabilityAlthough 4.1 lists a widerange of sizes, classes, groups, and styles for commercial typ

6、esof ovens, not all combinations are available.1.5 The values stated in inch-pound units are to be regardedas the standard. Whenspecified in the purchase order or contract, a report of the testresults shall be furnished.6. Materials6.1 GeneralMicrowave ovens shall conform to the refer-enced documents listed in

38、Section 2. Materials used shall befree from defects that would affect the performance or main-tainability of individual components or of the overall assembly.Materials not specified herein shall be of the same quality usedfor the intended purpose in commercial practice. Unlessotherwise specified her

39、ein, all equipment, material, and articlesincorporated in the work covered by this specification are to benew and fabricated using materials produced from recoveredmaterials to the maximum extent possible without jeopardizingthe intended use. The term “recovered materials” meansmaterials that have b

40、een collected or recovered from solidwaste and reprocessed to become a source of raw materials, asopposed to virgin raw materials. None of the above shall beinterpreted to mean that the use of used or rebuilt products areallowed under this specification unless otherwise specified.6.2 Hardware and Fi

41、ttingsUnless otherwise specified (see5.1), all hardware and fittings shall be corrosion-resistant orsuitably processed to resist corrosion in accordance with themanufacturers standard practice.6.3 Threaded PartsAll threaded parts shall conform toANSI B1.1.6.4 Cooking CavityUnless otherwise specified

42、 (see 5.1),the cooking cavity shall be constructed of Types 302, 304, or316 corrosion-resistant steel conforming to SpecificationA240/A240M, or aluminum alloy Type 3003-0 conforming toSpecification B209. The cooking cavity shall be constructedand sealed to prevent spillage from draining into the ove

43、nchassis.6.5 DoorUnless otherwise specified (see 5.1), the doorshall be constructed of Types 302 or 304 corrosion-resistantsteel conforming to Specification A240/A240M. Aluminumalloy Types 356 or 319 conforming to Specification B108 orType 6061 aluminum alloy conforming to Specification B209may also

44、 be used alone or in combination with the corrosion-resisting steel described.6.6 ExteriorUnless otherwise specified (see 5.1), materialshall be Types 302, 304, 316 or 430 corrosion-resistant steelconforming to Specifications A240/A240M or A176 asapplicable, and thickness shall be 20 gage min. (0.03

45、75 in. (1mm) U.S. revised standard gage).7. Design, Construction, and Physical Requirements7.1 GeneralMicrowave ovens shall conform to the refer-enced documents listed in Section 2. The oven shall bedelivered assembled with all components necessary to ensure afully functional product.7.2 Microwave E

46、nergy SourceMicrowave energy shall begenerated using one or more magnetron tubes or any othersuitable generating source of microwave energy. Microwaveenergy shall be interrupted and the generating source shall berendered inoperative (either turned off or switched to a standbymode) when the oven door

47、 is open or not securely latched inthe closed position.7.2.1 Warning LabelAwarning marking shall be affixed tothe outer case assembly or adjacent to each service accesscover and adjacent to one of the fasteners that secures the outercase assembly to the oven chassis. A high voltage warninglabel shal

48、l also be placed near the high voltage componentsinside the outer case. The label shall include but is not limitedto the following warnings:7.2.1.1 A warning of high voltage,7.2.1.2 Power supply must be disconnected beforeservicing,7.2.1.3 Access covers must be in place during use, and7.2.1.4 Servic

49、ing should be done only by authorized indi-viduals.7.2.2 Microwave Radiation DistributionMeans shall beprovided to maintain uniform distribution of microwave radia-tion throughout the cooking cavity (see 11.6).7.2.3 Door Latch MechanismThe mechanical door latchmechanism shall be certified to be operable for no fewer than10 000 cycles without any visible deformation or inoperation.7.3 Magnetron Protection:7.3.1 Reflected EnergyWith the oven empty except forany required tray or sheet furnished by the manufacturer, theoven shall be c
