These requirements out-line the testing and retesting methods and procedures, permit-ted variations in dimensions, and mass, quality and repa
9、ir ofdefects, marking, loading, and ordering information.3.2 In addition to the basic requirements of thisspecification, certain supplementary requirements are availablewhen additional control, testing, or examination is required tomeet end use requirements.3.3 If the requirements of this specificat
10、ion are in conflictwith the requirements of Specification A20/A20M, the require-ments of this specification shall prevail.4. Manufacture4.1 Steelmaking PracticeThe steel shall be killed andshall conform to the fine austenitic grain size requirement ofSpecification A20/A20M.5. Heat Treatment5.1 Excep
11、t as allowed by 5.2, the plates shall be heat treatedby heating to not less than 1650F 900C, quenching in wateror oil and tempering at not less than 1150F 620C.5.2 Plates ordered without the heat treatment specified in5.1 shall be stress relieved by the manufacturer, and subsequentheat treatment of
12、the plates to conform to 5.1 shall be theresponsibility of the purchaser.6. 24、n Tests:7.1.1 RequirementsThe plates as represented by thetension-test specimens shall conform to the requirements givenin Table 2.7.1.2 Test Methods:7.1.2.1 The yield strength may be determined by the 0.2 %offset method or by the total extension under load of 0.5 %method.7.1.2.2 For plates34 in. 20
25、 mm and under in thickness, thetest specimen shall be the 112 in. 40 mm wide rectangular-testspecimen.7.1.2.3 For plates over34 in. 20 mm, either the fullthickness rectangular-test specimen or the12 in. 12.5 mmround-test specimen may be used.7.1.2.4 When the 112 in. 40 mm wide rectangular-testspecim
26、en is used, the elongation is measured in a 2 in. or 50mm gage length which includes the fracture.7.2 Impact Properties Requirements:7.2.1 Transverse Charpy V-notch impact test specimensshall have a lateral expansion opposite the notch of not lessthan 0.015 in. 0.38 mm.7.2.2 The test temperature sha
