Terminology3.1 For definitions of terms related to copper and copperalloys, refer to Terminology B846.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 lengths, mill, nstraight lengths, including ends, thatcan be conve

Full lengthpieces are usually 2400, 3000, or 3600 mm and subject toestablished length tolerances.3.2.1.1 lengths, stock, nstraight lengths that are mill cutand stored in advance of orders. They are usually 2400, 3000,or 3600 mm and subject to established length tol
25、erances.3.2.2 rolled bar, na rolled flat product over 5 mm thickand up to and including 300 mm wide, with sheared, sawed, ormachined edges, in straight lengths or coils (rolls).4. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Materials:4.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be a cast bar, cake,slab of such purity a
26、nd soundness as to be suitable forprocessing into the products to the product specification listedin Section 1.4.1.2 When specified in the contract or purchase order thatthe heat identification or traceability is required, the purchasershall specify the details desired.4.2 Manufacture:4.2.1 The prod
27、uct shall be manufactured by such hot-working, cold-working, and annealing process as to produce auniform wrought structure in the finished product.4.2.2 The product shall be hot- or cold-worked to thefinished size and subsequently annealed, when required, tomeet the temper properties specified.4.3
28、EdgesThe edges shall be slit, shared, sawed, or rollededges, as specified. Slit edges shall be furnished unlessotherwise specified in the contract or purchase order. See 5.6for edge descriptions and corresponding tables for tolerances.5. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variations5.1 GeneralFor the
29、 purpose of determining conformancewith the dimensional requirements prescribed in thisspecification, any measured value outside the specified limitingvalues for any dimension may be cause for rejection.NOTE 1Blank spaces in the tolerance tables indicate either that thematerial is not available or t
30、hat no tolerances have been established.5.2 ThicknessThe standard method of specifying thick-ness shall be in decimal fractions of a millimetre. For material0.50 mm and under in thickness, it is recommended that thenominal thicknesses be stated not closer than the nearest0.01 mm. A list of preferred
31、 thicknesses is shown in AppendixX1.
