3、n covers manufacturing andjoining requirements for peelable (skinned) polyethylene (PE)pipe, which is PE pipe meeting the requirements of Specifica-tion D2513, with a peelable outer layer of polypropylene (PP).These requirements are in addition to those in SpecificationD2513 for the PE pipe.1.2 The

PE Pipe and PP Layer Requirements4.1 PE Pipe Requirements:4.1.1 The PE pipe shall meet all the requirements ofSpecification D2513, excluding marking, when tested in accor-dance with 6.1. 18、el force and impact test requirementsin 4.2.2 and 4.2.3.4.2.2 The PP peelable layer shall be partially bonded to thePE pipe during the co-extrusion process. The peel test forceshall be in the range 2.3 lbs/in to 11.5 lbs/in (0.3N/mm to1.5N/mm) when measured at 73F (23C) in accordance with6.2. This p
19、eel force demonstrates that the outer peelable layerdoes not adhere to the PE pipe. The pipe manufacturer shallprovide peel force data at other temperatures, when the needarises.4.2.3 The co-extruded peelable pipe shall have an impacttest value of at least 185 ft-lbs (250J) when testing inaccordance
20、 with 6.3 at 15F (-10C). The impact energy valuefor this test assures that the proper type of PP material is usedfor the peelable layer.4.2.4 The PP peelable layer wall thickness shall meet thedimensions specified in Table 1.NOTE 1The peelable layer wall thickness is not used for pressurerating calc
21、ulations.4.2.5 The color of the PP peelable layer shall be yellow witha minimum of four equally spaced brown stripes to identify thepipe as peelable pipe.5. Peelable Pipe Requirements5.1 Squeeze-OffThe peelable pipe manufacturer shallqualify squeeze-off of peelable pipe per Specification D2513using
22、squeeze tools meeting Specification F1563. The samegap stops appropriate for the standard PE pipe DR shall beused, and the same squeeze-off procedures for PE pipe per therequirements in Specification D2513 shall be followed.5.2 Outdoor StorageThe peelable PP layer shall protectthe PE pipe from UV ra
23、diation to provide outdoor storage ofpeelable pipe for up to five years from date of manufacture.The peelable pipe shall be capped on both ends.5.3 ReworkThere shall be no rework used in the manu-facture of peelable pipe.6. Test Methods6.1 PE Pipe TestingTo determine conformance to Speci-fication D2
24、513, the PE pipe shall be tested exclusive of theco-extruded PP peelable layer.6.2 PA Peel Forcethe peel force test shall be in accor-dance with ISO 17454.6.3 Impact testthe impact test shall be in accordance withEN 1411.7. Marking7.1 Marking shall be applied to the co-extruded peelablelayer and sha
25、ll conform to the marking requirements ofSpecification D2513, except that peelable pipe made accordingthis standard specification shall be marked ASTM F2830.7.2 The PE pipe is not marked.7.3 The marking shall include the words “Peelable Pipe” toindicate this is peelable pipe.8. Joining8.1 For all jo
26、ining methods (butt fusion, saddle fusion,socket fusion, electrofusion and mechanical fittings), the PPpeelable layer shall be removed immediately before joiningusing only a cutting tool prescribed by the pipe manufacturer.This cutting tool is designed to safely remove the peelablelayer without dama
27、ging the PE pipe. After removing thepeelable layer, the PE pipe is joined immediately using ASTMD2513 PE pipe standard joining procedures as recommendedby the respective manufacturer.NOTE 2After removing the peelable layer, the PE pipe should not becontaminated prior to joining.8.2 The PP layer shal
28、l be peeled back sufficiently so thatthere is no interference with the recommended joining proce-dure.8.3 Electrofusion joints do not require scraping since thePE layer is clean after removal of the PP peelable layer. Toassure electrofusion joint integrity using peeled PE pipe thathas not been scrap
29、ed, the PE pipe and peelable PP layer shallnot have release agents, lubricants, or other additives that willexude to the surface, and negatively affect the integrity of theelectrofusion joints. An electrofusion joint made on non-scraped peeled pipe and evaluated per Specification F1055 toensure a go
30、od quality joint without scraping shall demonstratethis.9.
