9、d specifies the chemical composition, mechanical properties and inspection and test requirements for a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-vanadium steel (iron base, Ni 1.75, Cr1.25, Mo 1, V 0.2) supplied in the following forms and as parts for general aerospace use. a) Forging stock, designation S 163A, col
10、umns2,3 and 4 of Table 1. b) Forgings, designation S 163C, columns5,6and7 of Table 1. c) Black bars for machining, designation S 163B, columns 8, 9 and 10 of Table 1. d) Bright bars for machining, designation S 163D, columns 11, 12 and 13 of Table 1. 2 References This standard makes reference to the

BS EN 2500, Guidelines for the preparation and use of standards for metallic materials 1) . 3 Technical requirements 3.1 The material in its delivery and use condi
12、tions shall comply with Table 1, the format and nomenclature of which comply with BS EN 2500. 3.2 This standard shall be used in conjunction with BS S 100, as given in Table 1, or as given in 3.3 to3.8. 3.3 One sample from the top and bottom of each ingot shall be taken for sulphur printing or deep
13、etching tests. 3.4 The material shall be overall dressed. 3.5 Before rehardening, the material shall be softened. 3.6 Material shall not be hardened and tempered more than two times. 3.7 Parts finally heat treated after machining shall comply with sections 1 and 7 of BS S 100. 3.8 Parts shall be sup
