6、or collars for close tolerance shearpinsfor aircraft 2ii blankBSSP121:1958 BSI 02-2000 1 1 Scope This BritishStandard specifies the material, dimensions and finish of aluminium alloy collars primarily for use with close tolerance shear pins, foraircraft purposes, complying with BS SP113 1) . 2 Mater
7、ial The collars shall be manufactured from bars or tubes complying with the requirements of the latest issue of BS L64 2)or BS L62 3)respectively. 3 Dimensions The collars shall conform to the dimensions and tolerances specified in Table 1. NOTEA table to assist in the conversion of the dimensions t
8、oapproximate metric equivalents is given in the Appendix. 4 Finish The collars shall have a smooth machined or equivalent finish. 5 Protective treatment The collars shall be anodized in accordance with the latest issue of Ministry of Supply aircraft process specification D.T.D.910. 6 Freedom from de
9、fects a) The collars shall be free from sharp edges and from burrs, and split pin holes shall be drilled clean and be free from burrs. b) Collars may be rejected at any time for faults in, or revealed by, manufacture, although they have been made from material passed previously for chemical composit
10、ion and mechanical properties. 7 Identification a) The collars shall be dyed blue by an approved process. b) The collars shall be identified for ordering by the number of this BritishStandard, together with the appropriate code letter shown in Table 1:for example, a collar for a 1 / 4 in. diameter p
