SCOPE 1.1 S
3、coDe. This commercial item description covers the requirements for one type of cotton flannel cloth used to manufacture pajamas, gloves, and interlining for coats and caps. 2. SALIENT cHARAcTERIs71cs 2.1 Description. The cloth shall be manufactured from a standard commercial cotton. It shall have a
4、plain weave and a napped finish on both sides. The color and width of the cloth shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order. 2.2 Physical characteristics. The cloth shall weigh a minimum of 4.0 ounces per square yard when tested in accordance with ASTM D-3776, Option C I/. The cloth shal
5、l have a minimum of 42 ends and 40 picks per inch when tested in accordance with ASTM D-3775 I/. The cloth shall have a minimum breaking strength of 23 pounds in the warp direction and 19 pounds in the filling direction when tested in accordance with ASTM D-1682, Section 16. The cloth shall have a m
6、aximum shrinkage rate of 2.0 percent in the warp direction and 2.0 percent in the filling direction when tested in accordance with AATCC 135, Procedure IIB. The cloth shall show colorfastness to laundering, crocking, and perspiration equal to or better than the standard sample when tested according
7、to AATCC 61, Test 3A zk AATCC 8 and AATCC 15 3/ respectively. 9、es. The soap solution shall contain 0.5 percent by weight, P-D-245, Detergent, Laundry, and Hand Dishwashing (Granular) Type II, in water hardness not over 50 parts per million. The weight of the specimen shall be 4.0 5 0.5 grams and the rotating time shall be 30 minutes with ten stainless steel bal
10、ls in each cylinder. 3/ The test for colorfstness for acid and alkaline solution shall apply. 2.2.1 Standard samde. The nished cloth shall match the standard sample for shade and appearance, and shall be equal to or better than the standard sample with respect to all Characteristics for which the st
11、andard sample is referenced. 2.2.2 Matching. Ail color of the finished cloth shall match the standard sample when viewed under filtered tungsten lamps that approximate artificial daylight and that have a correlated color temperature of 7500 2 200 K, with illumination of 100 5 20 foot candles, and sh
12、all be a good match to the standard sample under incandescent lamplight at 2300 2 200 K. 2.3 Len objectionable odor, width not as specified; poor dye penetration; mottled; streaky; cloudy; excessive nepiness. 4.3.1.3 Examination for lenrrth. During the yard-by-yard examination, each piece in the sam
13、ple shall be examined for length. Any length found to be less than the minimum specified or more than two yards below the length marked on the ticket shall be considered a defect wih respect to length. The lot shall be unacceptable if the total of the actual lengths of pieces in the sample is less t
14、han the total of the lengths marked on the tickets. 4.3.1.4 Examination for shade. During the yard-to-yard examination, each piece in the sample shall be examined for shade. Any piece in the sample which is off shade, shaded side to side, side to center, or end to end shall be cause for rejection fo
15、r the entire lot represented by the sample. 4.3.1.5 Examination for identification of meshrinkage urocess . comuliance with Textile Fiber Products Identification Act and face marking. During the yard-to-yard examination, each piece in the sample shall be examined for the defects listed below. The lo
