8、5OL 34b Page 3 prEN 2591-617: 1997 I Scope This standard specifies a method of checking the ability of optical connection elements (including permanent connections) and fibre optic couplers to withstand temperature cycling. It shall be used together with EN 2591-100. 2 Normative references This Euro

9、pean Standard incorporates by dated or undated reference provisions from other publications. These normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text and the publications are listed hereafter. For dated references, subsequent amendments to or revisions of any of these publications

10、apply to this European Standard only when incorporated in it by amendment or revision. For undated references the latest edition of the publication referred to applies. 12、ntinuity 2) 3 Preparation of specimens 3.1 product standard. Cavities with unterminated contacts shall have filler plugs fitted (where applicable). Specimen shall be fitted with normal accessories and terminated in accordance with the 3.2 - type and length of cable/fibre; - maximum permitted variati

13、on of attenuation; - high/low temperatures; - duration of extreme temperatures and rates of change; - number of cycles. Unless otherwise indicated in the technical specification the following details shall be specified: 4 Apparatus Light Launch System (LLS) as defined in EN 2591-100 Light Detector S

14、ystem (LDS) as defined in EN 2591-100 Climatic chamber capable of temperature control of f 3OC 1) In preparation at the date of publication of this standard. 16、urements - Measure the variation of attenuation (EN 2591-602, method A) continuously throughout the test; - Place the specimen in climatic chamber (at time to) - Bring the temperature levei to TA value during period (ti - to) - Maintain at TA temperature during period (t2- t,) - Change the temperatu

17、re to T, during period (t3- t,) - Maintain a T, temperature during period (t4- t3) - Change the temperature to ambient temperature during period (t5- t4) - Maintain at ambient temperature during period (te- t5). These phases constitute one basic cycle (see figure 1) whose parameters are given in the
