The diffusion of metal ions in inserts is one of the most dangerou
9、s occurrences. It is therefore indispensable to apply a direct current voltage of sufficient level throughout the test. In addition, limit layer effects on the surface of inserts may also give rise to severe functional incidents (such as generation of spurious voltages). Such effects can only be evi
10、denced by a prolonged exposure to a saturated damp atmosphere with application of a direct current voltage (superficial leakage). 1 Scope and field of application This standard specifies a method of verifying the long-term stability of an element of connection design when exposed to ionisation pheno
