This commercial item description covers a pneumatic tire bead breaker rated at 30 tons. It is hydraulic in operation and is powered by an explosion proof electric motor. It is int
2、ended to be used to break the beads of divided aircraft wheels with tires ranging in size from 15-72 inches in diameter, 4-25 inches wide and with a rim size of 12-34 inches. 2 SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 Functional requirements. The bead breaker shall provide a means of breaking the beads of tires
3、from divided wheel aircraft rims using a spider plate assembly. It shall be capable of being operated by one person. The machine shall break both beads of the tire with one actuation without damage to either tire or wheel. An instructional panel shall be affixed to the bead breaker. Instructions sha
4、ll be clear, concise, and sufficient to enable operation of the machine without damage or injury to the operator. The panel shall be readily visible from the operators position. The bead breaker shall be finished to protect against corrosion normally found in a shop/hanger environment. The shipping
5、weight shall not exceed 2,000 pounds. 2.2 Hydraulic system. The hydraulic system shall consist of an electrically powered pump and all components and fittings necessary for safe, reliable operation and shall be compatible with fluid conforming to MIL-H-5606. All controls shall be permanently marked
6、as to operation and shall be capable of being operated by a person wearing heavy gloves. Controls shall be smooth and non erratic. 8、rements. Electrical equipment and wiring provided shall conform to the National Electrical Code, NFPA 70. The explosion proof electric motor shall conform to Underwriters Laboratories Class I, Group D, designed for connection to 220/440 volts, 3 phase, 60 hertz electrical power unless otherwise spec
9、ified in the contract or purchase order. 2.4 Spider plate assembly. The bead breaker shall be provided with a spider plate assembly on both sides that will allow for adjustable spades on each side. A minimum of four (4) spades shall be provided on each spider assembly. 3 PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIO
10、NS 3.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The
11、 government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 3.2. Bid sample. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a bid sample shall be provided for government verification of compliance with the following inspection(s). 3.2.1 Examination. The bead breaker shall be visually exa
12、mined to assure that it meets the requirements of this CID. 3.2.2 Static proof load. The bead breaker shall be capable of exerting a 30 ton force between the cylinder and the stationary ram. 4 PACKAGING 4.1 Preservation. Packing. and Marking. Preservation, packing and marking shall be as specified i
