SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This
3、specification covers the materials requirements and quality assurance provisions for an eight harness satin weave graphite fabric. 2. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Physical characteristics. 3.1.1 Weave construction. The material shall be an eight harness satin weave graphite fabric. The graphi
9、te yarn used in the fabric shall be in accordance with MIL-Y-87125, Type I, 3.1.2 Yarn count. The thickness of the fabric shall be 0,012 3.2 Composition. 3.2.1 - Volatile content, not exceed 5.0 percent by w
11、eight. The volatile content of the fabric shall 3.2.2 Carbon content. The carbon content of the fabric shall be 99.6 percent by weight, minimum, after the volatiles are removed. 3.3 Pfechanical properties. 3.3.1 Breaking strength. The minimum breaking strength of the fabric shall be as follows: Mini

Each roll of fabric shall be identified using a label affixed to the inside of the winding tube. The label shall contain the

Specification number. 3.5 - Workmanship. product which is uniform in appearance and weave construction. 3.5.1 Defects. The fabric shall not have more then 2 holes and 2 torn selvages per 3 yards of fabric length.
14、A hole is defined as a preforation 0.125 inch or larger. The fabric shall be woven so as to yiqld a 3.5.2 Contamination. There shall be no dirt, metal particles, or other foreign matte; present in the fabric. 3.6 Preproduction. When specified, a preproduction sample roll of fabric at least 100 yards

QUk,ITY ASSUTIANCF PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. .
16、- Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as other- wise specified in the contract, the contractor may use his own facilities or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the i
17、nspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government, of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspec- tions are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. The Government reserves the right to perfom any 4.2 Class

Quality conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 Preproduction tests. The preproduction sample roll of fabric shall be subjected to the following tests: a. Defects and

When the fabric fails to meet any acceptance requirements, the lot shall be retested using double the number of samples. shall be rejected. If a failure occurs during the second retest, the lot 4.4.1.5 Test condition. Unless otherwise
25、 specified, the tests required by this specification shall be made at an atmospheric pressure of 30 5 2 inches of mercury, and at a temperature of 24.5 - + 2OC (76 - + 4OF) and a relative humidity of 50 2 10 percent. 4.4.1.6 Measurements. All measurements shall be made with instruments whose accurac

Perform test in accordance with ASTM D1910. Verify compliance with 3.1.1. 4.5.2 Defe
27、cts and contamination. of fabric from each roll. Verify compliance with 3.5.1 and 3.5.2. Visually examine a minimum of 2 yards 4.5.3 Volatile content. Weigh approximately 1 gram of fabric into a tared (50 milliliters (mL) porcelain crucible, Heat 16 hours minimum in a muffle furnace at 400 f. 20OC (
28、204 f. 68OF). Cool in a desiccator and reweigh. Calculate the loss in weight. Verify compliance with 3.2.1. 4.5.4 Carbon content, Determine the carbon content by gas chromato- graphy using the test method of 4.6.1. Verify compliance with 3.2.2. 4.5.5 Yarn count, Perform the test in accordance with A
29、STM D1910. Verify compliance with 3.1.,2. 4.5.6 Weight. Perform test in accordance with ASTM D1910. Verify compliance with 3.1.3, 4.5.7 Color, each roll. 4.5.8 Fabric thickness. Measure the fabric thickness in accordance with FED-STD-191, Method 5030. Verify compliance with 3.1.5, Visually examine a

To verify compliance with Section 5, examinations shall be performed to ensure that all require- ments have been.met. 4,6 Test procedures. 4.6.1 Carbon content. 4.6.1.2 Samp

33、Cool in a desiccator. Detemine the carbon content by gas chrmatography using an F if below 0.6000 mg., add sample. 4.6.1.7 Preparation of sample for combustion. a. b. C. d. e. f. Position one of the combustion rod assemblies on the rod holder and slide the retaining nuts to within 2 inches of the ro
34、d end. The small retaining nut must not be tightened into the large nut. Using tweezers, remove the weighed sample from the balance and place it in the boat cavity of the rod. Pack the boat with oxidizing catalysts until it is even with the top of the boat. Tap the catalyst down firmly with the spat
35、ula. NOTE: Samples that are difficult to burn should be mixed with a small amount of catalyst prior to filling boat. Remove the hot combustion rod from the furnace by unscrewing the large retainer nut and pulling the entire assembly outward. posit ion. Position the loaded rod in the “SAMPLE PORT“ an
36、d immediately secure in position by tightening the large retaining nut, Never use a wrench or pliers. Hand tighten the small retaining nut. the handle grip in a perfectly vertical position while tightening the nut, or the sample will fall out into the neck of the combustion tube. NOTE: When the hot
37、rod was removed, the carrier system was partially opened to atmosphere; and when the loaded rod was installed, the system was resealed. As a result, the atmosphere “slug“ that-was admitted in the interim will now be carried onto the chromatographic column by the restored carrier gas flow. The detect

After the atmosphere peak is recorded and the baseline is returned to the approximate normal position, loosen the small retaining knob slightly while holding the rod handle to prevent it from turning. CYCLE“ pushbutton, then push the rod into the combustion tube as far as it will go. Depress the “
40、START TIME NOTES: Do not completely loosen the small nut to perform the above step, It is only necessary to loosen it to the point when the rod can be pushed in about 1/4 turn. The instrument will now combust the sample for 40 seconds. The gases will then be swept into the reduction furnace and chro
41、mato- graphic column. If automatic attenuation mode is used, the. instrument will automatically attenuate the recorded signal to keep all the peaks on scale. If the manual mode of attenuation is used., adjust attenuation for each peak as follows: Peak 1, Nitrorren x 8 Peak 2, Carbon Dioxide, x 32 Pe
42、ak 3, Water, x 8 4.6.1.8 Calibration. a. Set the weight dial to read 700 and set the “SENSITIVITY SELECTOR“ to liXANUAL“. Move the “ATTENUATION“ control to the “8“ position. Place an empty sample boat in the rod cavity . Fill the boat with catalyst and pack the catalyst lightly with a spatula. b, C.
43、 Load the catalyst-only rod into the instrument and run a d. . chromatogram. The resulting chromatogram will show how much C-H-N is contained in the catalysts. Under normal conditions, the first peak (N) will not exceed 1 scale division high; the second peak (C) will not exceed 4 scale divisions; an

Record the peak height of the C, H, t N peaks to

A standard sample whose carbon content most closely matches that of the unknown and therefore gives a CO2 peak similar in-height to that obtained on the unknown is used to ob
49、tain the correction contents. From the measured peak height values, the constants are computed as follows; using 2, 4-D as an example: 51.79% (Measured C Peak Height - (Measured-C Peak Height Carbon Kc = from sample run) from blank run) 4.6.1.10 unknown sample.
