15、ein, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements prior to sub- mission for Government inspection and ac- ceptance. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilif I ies or any commercial laboratory acceptable to the Government. Inspection re
16、cords of the ex- aminations and tests shall be kept complete and available to the Government as speci- fied in the contract or order. 4.2 Classification of tests, Tee inspection and testing of the maintenance platform shall be classified as acceptance tests. 4.3 Acceptance tests. The acceptance test
17、s Bhall consist of the following tests : (a) Indiv.idua1 test. (b) Sampling plan and tests. 4.3.1 Indiv%ual test. Each maintenance platform shall be subjected to the test spec- ified in 4.4.1. 4.3.2 Sampling plan and tests. Mainten- ance platforms shall be subjected to the fol- lowing tests until 10
18、 maintenance platforms in succession have been accepted. There- after, one maintenance platform selected at random from each thirty produced shall be assembled, loaded, and inspected until a maintenance platform is rejected, at which kirne the inspection sequence shall be re- peated. I (a) Platform
19、static load test (see 4.4.2). (b) Load holding test (see 4.4.3). (c) Step weight test (see 4.4.4). 4.3.2.1 Rejection and retest. When one maintenance platform selected from a pro- duction run fails to meet the specification, maintenance platforms still on hand or later produced shall not be accepted
20、 until the ex- tent and cause of failure are determined. 4.3.2.2 Individual tests may continue. For operational reasons, individual tests may be continued pending the .investigation of a sampling test failure. Final acceptance of maintenance platforms on hand or produced later shall not be made unti
21、l it is determined that the maintenance platforms meet all the requirements of the specification. 4.3.3 Defects in maintenance platforms already accepted. The investigation of a test failure could indicate that defects may exist in maintenance platforms already accepted. If so, the contraotor shall
22、fully advise the procuring activity of all defects likely to be found and methods of correcting them. 4.4 Test methods. 4.4.1 Examination of product. The main- tenance platform shall be inspected to de- termine compliance with the requirements specified herein and on the drawings with ;respect to ma
23、terials, workmanship, dimen- sions, finishes, and markings. The mainten- ance platform shall be inspected for opera- tion of controls and locking devices. 4.4.2 Platform static load test. The main- tenance platform shall be completely assem- bled and loaded with a static load of 1,500 pounds ak or n
24、ear the center of the plat- form. The maintenance platform shall then be operated through its entire range twice. The load shall then be removed and the maintenance platform operated through its entire range hice. There shall be no leak- age of hydraulic fluid, elongation of bolt- holes, or failures
25、 of welding, material, or workmanship as a result of this test. 4.4.3 Load holding test. With the load applied as specified in 4.4.2, the mainten- ance platform shall be left at the 7-fOOt level for 1 hour without the locking device in use. The rate of settling of the piston shall not exceed 0.02 in

Each step of the maintenance platform shall be individually tested with a static load of 400 pounds at or near the center of the step. The deflection of each step under load s
27、hall not exceed % inch, and there shall be no per.manent de- flection when the load is removed. 4.5 Inspection f the preservation, packag- ing, and packing. The inspection of the pre- servation, packaging, and paclring shall be in accordance with the instructions in section 5, or ;the specifications
28、 referenced ;therein. 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Preservation and packaging. 51.1 Level A. The mahtenance platform shall be cleaned, dried and preserved in ac- corance with MILP-116. Bare corrosive surfaces shall be preserved method I. Sur- faces adequately protected by painting, plat- ing or p

The hydraulic system shall be preserved in accordance with the section of MIL-P-3345 applicable to hydraulic sys- to main- tain a minimum gross weight and cube. 5.2.2 Level B. Same as level A. 5.2.3 Levez C. Maintenance platforms shall be packed t
30、he minimum required by carrier pules and regulations to insure safe delivery to the initial receiving activity. Containers shall comply with Uniform Freight Classifi- cation Rules or other common carrier rdgula- tions applicable to the mode of transpocta- tion. 5.2.4 Air shipment$. Maintenance plat-
31、 forms shall be prepared for air shipment in accordance with MIL-A-25175. 5.3 Physical protection. All cushioning, blocking, bracing and bolting shall be in ac- cordance with JAN-P-100. The drop tests of JAN-P-100 shall be waived when pack- aging and packing of the item is for im- mediate use or whe
32、n the drop test of MIL P-116 M applicable. 5.4 Marking. All marking shall be in ac- cordance with MIGSTD-129. The shipment marking nomenclature shall be as follows: Maintenance Platform, Aircraft, Ad- justable, 3 to 10 Feet, Type B-l. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The Type B-I mainten- .ance piatfom co
