11、pecification makes provisions for first article testing. Testing shall be performed at the contractors plant. First article testing shall be in accordance with paragraph 4.4. 3.2 General requirements. The requirements of drawing 5456279 apply as requirements of this specification with the exceptions
12、 and additions specified herein. When the drawing and this specification conflict, this specification shall govern. 3.3 Commercial parts. Commercial parts having suitable properties may be used where, on the date of invitation for bids, there are no suitable standard parts. In any case, commercial u
13、tility parts such as screws, bolts, nuts, and cotterpins, having suitable properties may be used provided: a. They can be replaced by the standard parts CMS or AN) without alteration. . . b. 14、ngs. I 3.4 Performance. Unless otherwise specified, the maintenance platform shall be capable of operating satisfactogily immediately following subjection to temperature ranging from -65 to +160 Fahrenheit. 3.4.1 Mobility. The maintenance platform shall be capable of being towed over equal distance

With all wheel locks
16、fully engaged, no damage to the locks or slipping of wheels shall result when the maintenance platform is moved a distance of 5 feet on smooth, dry concrete. 3.6 Hydraulic system. The hydraulic system shall be equipped with a reservoir and filler opening located on the top. A drain plug shall be pro
17、- vided. An air vent shall be incarporated in the filler cap. Means shall be provided in the reservoir tank to prevent oil from splashing out when the maintenance platform is moved. An oil strainer shall be installed in the filler opening. conforming to MIL-H-6083 for shipment and storage. The hydra
18、ulic system and reservoir shall be filled with oil 3.6.1 Actuating pump. The actuating pump used in height adjustment of the. maintenance platform shall be designed for ease of maintenance, operation, and for resistance to the temperatures specified herein. the end of the handle of the pump to raise

22、roduct. Equipment, assemblies and parts shall be marked for identification- in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.9 Workmanship. 3.9.1 General. The maintenance platform, including all parts and acces- sories, shall be constructed and finished in a thoroughly workmanlike manner. Particular attention shal
23、l be given to neatness and thoroughness of welding and brazing, painting, riveting, and freedom of parts from burrs and sharp edges. 3.9.2 Riveting, Riveting operations shall be carefully performed to insure that the rivets are tight and satisfactorily headed. 4 Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo repro

All welded joints shall be inspected to insure freedom from cracks, oxide inclusions, or injurious porosity. 3.9.4 Cleaning. The maintenance platform shall be thoroughly
25、 cleaned of loose, spattered, or excess weld, metal chips, and other foreign material during and after final assembly. Burrs and sharp edges, as well as resin flash that may crumble, shall be removed. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS * 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in
26、the con- tract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise speci- fied in the contract or order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requ
27、irements speci- fied herein, unless disapproved by the Government. right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. The Government reserves the -k 4.2 Classification
28、of tests. The inspection and testing of the maintenance platform shall be classified as follows: a. First article (see 4.4). b. Acceptance tests (see 4.5). 4.3 Test conditins. The test conditions are described under the tests to which they apply. 4.4 First article testing. 4.4.1 Test sample. The fir

Sampling tests. 4.5.1 Individual tests. Each maintenance platform shall be subjected to the following test as specified under 4.6: Exami

One maintenance platform shall be selected at ran- dom from every fifty or fraction thereof produced and subjected

There shall be no leakage of hydraulic fluid, elongation of boltholes, or failure of welding, materials, or workmansh
41、ip. 4.6.3 Endurance. The maintenance platform shall operate satisfactorily after it has been subjected to a hundred cycles of raising a 500-pound load to maximum height and lowering the load to minimum height. - 4.6.4 Settling. With the platform raised 20. percent above the minimum height and with a
42、 platform load of 1,000 pounds, the rate of. settling of the hydraulic ram shall not exceed 0.020 inch per hour. installed for this test. Safety pins shall not be 4.6.5 Temperature tests. 45、r 12 hours prior to operation and test. 4.6.6 Tow test. -The maintenance platform shall be towed for a distance of 50 miles at an average speed of 15 mph. as nearly as available conditions will permit, over equal distances of sod, brick pavement, rough concrete, and rough macadam. of casters shall o

With all wheel locks fully engaged, the maintenance platform shall be subjected to a drawbar pull sufficient to move the unloaded maintenance platform a distance of 5 feet on smooth, dry concrete. shall be
