This specification covers the requirements for one type of aircraft refueling cargo tank truck capable of refueling and defueling military and commercial aircraft on Government installations w

The aircraft refueling truck shall be designed and constructed in accordance with all applicable European Union (EU) requirements in order to have the “CE” ma
40、rking affixed (see 3.3.3.1). The aircraft refueling truck shall be designed and constructed so that no parts will work loose in service. It shall be built to withstand the strains, jars, vibrations, and other conditions incident to shipping, storage, installation, and service. It shall be weatherpro
41、of and designed to prevent the intrusion of water and sand into critical operating components. The aircraft refueling truck shall be designed to optimize energy efficiency while minimizing engine fuel consumption. Unless otherwise specified, SAE ARP 1247 requirements for aerospace ground support equ
42、ipment, as applicable to a refueling truck, shall apply. 3.3.1 Materials, protective coatings, and finish. All components which come into contact with fuel shall be compatible with all fuels in accordance with ASTM D910, ASTM D1655, MIL-DTL-5624, MIL-DTL-25524, MIL-DTL-83133, GOST 10-227, Def Stan 9
43、1-91, Def Stan 91-87, ASTM D6615, and ASTM D7566. Magnesium alloys, wood products, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyester, room temperature vulcanizing rubber (yielding acetic acid), or asbestos shall not be used in any component or assembly of this truck. Zinc coated metals, brass, bronze, or other co
44、pper bearing alloys shall not come in direct contact with fuel. 3.3.1.1 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational
45、 and maintenance requirements, and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.3.1.2 Green Procurement Program (GPP). GPP is a mandatory federal acquisition program that focuses on the purchase and use of environmentally preferable products and services. GPP requirements apply to all acqu
46、isitions using appropriated funds, including services and new requirements. FAR 23.404(b) applies and states the GPP requires 100 percent of Environmental Protection Agency designated product purchase that are included in the Comprehensive Procurement Guidelines list that contains recovered material
47、s (see 6.3.1), unless the item cannot be acquired: a. Competitively within a reasonable timeframe, b. Meet appropriate performance standards, or c. At a reasonable price. All materials in contact with the fuel and not specified elsewhere in this document shall be corrosion resistant and shall not be adversely affected by or affect the fuel. All components and pipi
