Any nonmetallic materials which corrode, deteriorate, or are affected adversely by extremes in atmospheric conditions shall not be used. The nonmetallic material shall retain its initial cha
19、racteristics for prolonged periods without any signs of deterioration such as setting, weave separation, or fungus attack. 3.3.2 Adhesives. Any adhesives which are used shall resist attack by fungus, moisture, or other foreign environment which may come in contact with the strap. 3.3.3 Metals. Metal
20、s shall be of the corrosion-resistant type or suitably treated to resist corrosion due to fuels, salt Spray, or atmospheric conditions likely to occur in storage or normal service. The strap material shall be that webbing which is specified in AMs 3798/3, Type I, Solution Dyed, olive green color number 106 per HQ DPSC Handbook 4120.1 of the required
25、 lenght as specified in Figure 1. The webbing shall be seared at the ends to prevent fraying. 3.4.3 Release tab. The release tab shall be webbing per MIL-W-4088: Type I, yellow color number 1365 per HQ DPSC Handbook 4120.1 and of the required lenght as specified in Figure 1. 3.4.4 Buckle. The buckle
26、 shall be a Type V, Size 3/4, Class 3, in accordance with MIL-B-543 or any other buckle approved by the qualifying activity. The buckle shall be modified or designed to provide a one hand quick release operation using the attached release tab. The buckle shall have a fastened height of not more than
27、 0.75 inches and a fastened lenght of not more than 1.5 inches. The buckle shall be designed so as to enable the strap assembly to be adjustable to conform to irregular shapes. 3.4.5 Thread. The thread shall be nylon in accordance with MIL-T-43636, Type I, Size F, and shall be of the same color as t
28、he webbing. 3.4.6 Stitchinq. Stitching shall be type 301 in accordance with FED-STD-751. The strap shall be fastened securely to the D ring and buckle either by stitching or with a bonding adhesive which will permit strap to be pulled with a minimum
32、of 400 lbs without failure. 3.6 Interchanueabilitv. All parts having the same manufacturers part number shall be functionally and dimensionally interchangeable. The drawing number requirements of DOD-STD-100 shall govern changes in the manufacturers part numbers. 3.7 Identification of product. The r
33、etention strap assembly shall be marked with the following information in accordance with MIL-STD-130. The retention strap assembly shall have the following information permanently affixed or impregnated on the release tab in lettering not less than 1/16 inch high and not more than 118 inch high: Ma

The retention strap assembly shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from irregularities, defects, or foreign matter which could adversely affect safety, performance, reliab
35、ility or durability. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibilitv for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified herein. Except as otherwise speci
36、fied in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification w
37、here such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibilitv for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall
38、 inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in
39、spection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however, this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accept defective material. * Manufacturer shall

The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.4). b. Quality confor
41、mance inspection (see 4.5). 4.3 Inspection conditions. Unless otherwise specified, all inspections shall be performed in accordance with the test conditions specified in FED-STD-191. 4.4 First article inspection. First article inspection shall be preformed on one complete retention strap assembly wh
42、en a first article sample is required (see 3.1 and 6.2). This inspection shall include the examinations and tests as described herein (see 4.6). 4.4.1 First article. When specified in the contract, three complete first articles shall be submitted to the procuring activity at the time the first artic
43、le test report is submitted for approval. The Government reserves the right to preform any or all tests, inspections and examinations specified herein. 4.4.2 Test reports. Three copies of a test report shall be furnished to the qualifying activity. The test report shall include the results of all te
44、sts and a detailed statement of compliance or noncompliance with each requirement of this specification, identified by the applicable paragraph number (see 6.3). 4.5 Qualitv conformance inspection. Quality conformance inspection shall include the examination of 4.6.1 and the tests of 4.6.2.1 and 4.6
45、.2.2. 4.5.1 Individual tests. The tests as specified (see 4.6.1) shall constitute individual tests. 4.5.2 Samplinq tests. One retention strap assembly out of a Lot of 100, or fraction thereof, shall be subjected to the tests specified (see 4.6.2.1). 4.5.3 Rejection and retest. When an item selected
46、from a production run fails to meet the specification, no items still on hand or later produced shall be accepted until the extent and cause of failure have been determined and appropriately corrected. representative the cause of failure and the action taken to preclude recurrence.
