This is the first edition of ASSE/IAPMO/ANSI Series 13000, Service Plumber and Residential Mechanical Service T echnician Professional Qualifications Standard. ASSE Internatio
10、nal is dedicated to the preservation of public health and safety through the use of proper plumbing and piping practices, and approved materials. In the spirit of its motto, “Prevention Rather Than Cure,” ASSEs mission is to continually improve the performance, reliability and safety of plumbing sys

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) has been protecting the publics health and safety, and supporting sustainability and emerging technology for more than 80 years by working in concert with government and industry to implement comprehensive plumbing and
12、mechanical systems around the world. With the escalation of green building and the rapid emergence of sustainable technologies and construction practices, ASSE and IAPMO recognized the need to establish a level of competency necessary for the installation and inspection of sustainable plumbing and m
13、echanical systems and products to protect public health, safety and the environment. As such, the Series 13000 working group was established to develop this Service Plumber and Residential Mechanical Service T echnician Professional Qualifications Standard. The Series 13000 institutes a minimum leve
14、l of practical experience, and the plumbing service and residential mechanical service knowledge required in order for an individual to demonstrate the required level of competency. This voluntary, consensus standard was promulgated in accordance with procedures developed by the American National St

43、m f) Manufacturers installation, operation and maintenance manuals g) Work orders for the contractor and customer h) Warranties and rebates 10-3.1 Terminology The service plumber shall be able to demonstrate a basic working knowledge of all terminology listed in Appendix B. 10-3.2 Certification of t
44、he Service Plumber 10-3.3.1 Eligibility requirements 10-3.3.1.1 A minimum of five (5) years of documented practical experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of plumbing systems. 10-3.3.1.2 Successful completion of a minimum 40-hour training course encompassing all aspects of ASSE Standa
45、rd 13010 and including hands-on practical experience. 10-3.3.1.3 Certification shall include successfully passing a written exam and practical exam encompassing all aspects of ASSE Standard 13010. The written exam must be a minimum of 100 questions with a passing grade of at least 75%. The practical
46、 exam shall include hands-on and/or virtually simulated situations. 10-3.3.1.4 Certification to this standard shall be through a nationally recognized third-party certification agency. 10-3.3.1.5 Certification shall be for a three (3) year period. 10-3.3.2 Recertification of Service Plumbers 10-3.3.
47、2.1 Recertification shall include the successful completion of a minimum 8-hour course encompassing all aspects of ASSE Standard 13010 and successfully passing a written exam that is a minimum of 25 questions with a passing grade of at least 75%. Certification to this standard shall be through a nat
