Therefore it is equally important to assure that those individuals whoinstall firestopping are qualified and certified in t

12、heir ability to understand, perform up to, andmeet the various consensus codes and standards that are applicable to the industry. This Standardhas been developed to address those needs. It offers uniform requirements that can be used andaccepted throughout the construction industry to protect everyo

13、nes health and safety. It will berevised as the relevant codes and standards and safety needs demand.Suggestions for improvement of this Standard are welcome. 19、and devicesfor piping systems.The qualifications under this Standard are restrictedto those that are required by this Standard, the modelbuilding and plumbing codes requirements for firestop-ping developed by NFPA, ICBO, SBCCI, BOCA, ICC,and IAPMO, and consensus standards for piping systempenetratio

20、ns of fire-resistance-rated walls, partitions,floors, floor/ceiling assemblies, roof/ceiling assemblies,or shaft enclosures.1.2 Limitations for Firestop System InstallerCompliance with this Standard in itself shall not qual-ify an individual as a certified firestop contractor inaccordance with FM 49

44、ting(h) types of penetrating items7 VOCABULARY AND TERMSThe qualified firestop systems installer shall be able todemonstrate a basic working knowledge of the pertinentterms and vocabulary associated with firestopping sys-tems covered by this Standard.8 CERTIFICATION OF FIRESTOP SYSTEMSINSTALLERS8.1

45、OverviewCertification to this Standard shall be through an ISO/IEC 17024 ANSI-accredited third party certifier. Certifi-cation shall include the successful completion of a mini-mum 32-hr training course (outlined in para. 9) thatincludes a written and a practical examination coveringall facets of th

46、is Standard.8.2 Practical ExperienceThe certified firestop installer shall have a minimumof four (4) years of documented practical experience,recognized by the ISO/IEC 17024 ANSI-accredited thirdparty certifier, in the installation of piping systems.8.3 RecertificationCertification shall be renewed

47、a minimum of everyfive (5) years. The qualified firestop systems installershall have at least eight (8) hr of continuing educationprior to recertification9 32-HOUR FIRESTOP SYSTEMS INSTALLERTRAINING OUTLINEThe 32-hr training requirement (para. 8) shall includeinstruction, as a minimum, in the follow
