12、on plus 2% Oxygen shielded gas metal arc welding (spray transfer mode) for the balance. It cites the basemetals and operating conditions necessary to make the weldment, the filler metal specifications, and the allowable jointdesigns for groove welds. This WPS was developed primarily for pipe applica

When AWS American Nati

The data to support this Standard WeldingProcedure Specification (SWPS) have been derivedfrom the above listed Procedure QualificationRecords (PQRs) which were reviewed and validatedunder the auspices of the Welding Rese

37、arch Council.This SWPS is not valid using conditions and vari-ables outside the ranges listed. The American Weld-ing Society considers that this SWPS presentsinformation for producing an acceptable weld usingthe conditions and variables listed. The user needs asignificant knowledge of welding and ac

38、cepts fullresponsibility for the performance of the weld and forproviding the engineering capability, qualified person-nel, and proper equipment to implement this SWPS.Application. This SWPS is to be used only as per-mitted by AWS B2.1, Specification for Procedure andPerformance Qualification, and t

39、he applicable fabri-cation document(s) such as code, specification, orcontract document(s). The fabrication document(s)should specify the engineering requirements suchas design, need for heat treatment, fabricating toler-ances, quality control, and examination and testsapplicable to the end product.

40、Users Responsibility. An SWPS does not replaceor substitute fabrication codes, specifications, con-tract requirements, or capability and judgment onthe part of the user. An SWPS is to be used only aspermitted by the applicable fabrication code, specifi-cation, or contract document.The ability to pro

41、duce production welds havingproperties suitable for the application depends uponsupplementing the SWPS with appropriate perfor-mance qualification tests and sound engineeringjudgment. The user is responsible for the quality andperformance of the final product in accordance withthe provisions of the

42、fabrication document(s).Supplementary Instructions. To adapt this SWPSto a specific application, a user may issue supple-mentary instructions. Such instructions may consistof tighter fit-up tolerances, higher minimum preheattemperature, or any other instructions necessary toproduce a weldment that m

43、eets the requirements ofthe fabrication document(s). These instructions shallnot be less restrictive than provided in the SWPS.Safety. Safety precautions shall conform to thelatest edition of ANSI Z49.1, Safety in Welding,Cutting, and Allied Processes, published by theAmerican Welding Society.This s

44、pecification may involve hazardous mate-rials, operations, and equipment. The specificationdoes not purport to address all of the safety prob-lems associated with its use. It is the responsibility ofthe user to establish appropriate safety and healthpractices. The user should determine the applicabi
