5、011 Page 13 A separator may be used between a solid or stranded conductor and the insulation or covering. If a separator is used, it shall be opaque or colored. A clear separator is not permitted. 3.5 ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS 3.5.1 Voltage Tests When tested in accordance with ICEA T-27-581/NEMA WC 53

6、, each phase conductor of each manufacturing or finished length shall successfully withstand either of the following tests: 3.5.1.1 After the cable is immersed in water for 30 minutes, an ac voltage of 3000 volts shaii be applied for one minute between the phase conductor(s) and the water. 3.5.1.2 A

7、 spark test of 8.5 kV ac or 13.0 k.V de voltage sha! be applied. The test sha! be conducted on the finished assembly of conductors with the neutral isolated from the applied voltage. Where an assembly is subject to the direct current spark test, the individual phase conductors shall be similarly tes

8、ted prior to assembly. 3.6 INSULATION OR NEUTRAL COVERiNG REQUiREMENTS 3.6.1 Thickness Requirements 3.6.1.1 Insulation Thickness When measured in accordance with ICEA T-27-5811NEMA WC 53, the minimum thickness at any point of the insulation shall not be less than the applicable value in Table 3-2. 3

9、.6.1.2 Neutral Covering Thickness ,AJhsn measured in accordance with !CE.-A T-27-581/NE.t.t AJC 53, the minimum thickness at any point of the neutral covering shall not be less than the applicable value in Table 3-3. 3.6.2 Physical Requirements 3.6.2.1 Insulation Physical Requirements The insulation

An unfilled c.ro-ss!inked polyethylene insulation is one which contains les

17、s than 10 percent of carbon black and/or mineral fillers by weight. - In lieu of testing insulation removed from the conductor, a certification by the manufacturer of the polyethylene compound that this requirement has been complied with shall suffice. t The density ranges are applicable to the unco

18、lored, unfilled primary poiyethyiene component of the insuiation. 2011 by the Insulated Cable Engineers Association, Incorporated ICEA S-76-474-2011 Page 15 Section 4 CABLE ASSEMBLIES AND IDENTIFICATION 4.1 CABLE ASSEMBLIES 4. i. i Twisted Assemblies One or more phase conductors shall be t.Jisted ar

19、ound the neutral conductor withm.-t fi!ers with a !ay of 25 to 60 times tt!e finished diameter of one of the phase c.onductors. The phase conductors shall have the same direction of twist as that of the outer layer of wires in the neutral conductor. 4.1.2 Parallel Assemblies Parallel assemblies may

20、be used with aluminum phase conductors and aluminum, ACSR, ACSRiAW, or alloy 6201-T81 neutrals. The aluminum phase conductors shall be laid flat and parallel to an aluminum 1350, ACSR, ACSRIAW, or aluminum allov 6201-T81 neutral. The neutral shall be on the outside of the assemblv and shall be bound

21、 to the phase cOnductor or conductors with a suitable aluminum wire or strip having a breaking strength not less than 150 pounds (667 N) and applied with a lay of three to six inches. 4.1.3 s.z Assemblies (Reverse Twist) The aluminum phase conductor(s) shall be twisted around a 1350, ACSR, ACSRIAW,

22、or aluminum alloy 6201-T81 neutral conductor without fillers with a lay of 40 to 60 inches (1.02 to 1.52 m). Phase lay direction shall reverse every 1 to 1.5 times the nominal lay length. The assembly shall be bound together by a binder with a maximum lay length of 12 inches (0.305 m). 4.2 MANUFACTU

23、RERS IDENTIFICATION (OPTIONAL) The outer surface oi the phase conductor of a duplex assembly, and of one Oi mon; of the phase conductors of a triplex or quadruplex assembly, may be durably and legibly marked throughout its length. The tegend, if used, shalt be repeated at a maximum interval of 1 met

Incorporated Section 5 ICEA S-76-474-2011 Page 17 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR FINISHED CABLES 5.0 GENERAL Requirements for finished cables are in addition to

25、 the component requirement in Part 2. Finished cable tests may be made either on a production length before cutting into finished lengths, or on the cut finished lengths. Some finished cable tesis may be made on samples cut from ends of production or finished iengths. 5.1 STRENGTH OF NEUTRAL CONDUCT

26、ORS For bare neutral conductors, the rated strength shall be as determined in accordance with the applicable referenced stranded or solid bare conductor specification given in Section 2.3. For covered neutral (1) aluminum conductor, coated-steel reinforced (ACSR), (2) aluminum conductor, aiuminum-ci

27、ad sieei reinforced (ACSRiAiiv), (3) hard drawn copper, and (4) copper and copper-ciad sieei composite conductoiS, the rated strength shall be 5% less than the rated strength as detern.ined from the applicable referenced bare conductor specification. For covered neutral (1) aluminum and (2) aluminum

28、 alloy 6201-T81 conductors, the rated strength shall be 1 0% less than the rated strength as determined from the applicable referenced bare conductor specification. 5.2 COMPLETED ASSEMBLY NEUTRAL CONDUCTOR STRENGTH TESTS Tests for demonstration of the rated strength of a neutral conductor from a com

29、pleted assembly are not required by this standard but may be made if agreed upon between the manufacturer and the purchaser at the time of placing the order. If tested, the breaking strength of a neutral conductor shall not be less than the rated strength if the failure occurs in the free length at

30、least one inch beyond the end of either gripping device, or shall not be less than 95% of the rated strength if failure occurs inside, or within one inch of the end of, either gripping device. 5.3 MAXiMUivi PHASE CONDUCiOR DC RESiSiANCE FER UNii LENGiH The de resistance per unit length of each phase

31、 conductor in a production or finished length shall be determined in accordance with either 5.3.1 (measurement) or 5.3.2 (calculation). When the resistance is determined on a sample taken from an assembly or on individual phase conductors in a completed parallel assembly, the maximum resistance shal

32、l not exceed 102% of the appropriate resistance value in Table 2-3. AJhen the resistance is determined on individual phase conductors in completed twisted assemblies, the maximum resistance shall not exceed 104% of the appropriate resistance value in Table 2-3. 5.3.1 Direct Measurement of Phase Cond

33、uctor de Resistance Per Unit Length The phase conductor de resistance per unit length shall be determined in accordance with ICEA T-27-581/NEMA WC 53 to an accuracy of 2 percent or better. If measurements are made at a temperature other than zsc. the measured vaiue shaii be corrected to zsc. 2011 by

The volume resistivity (p) of the conductor material shall be determined in accordance with ASTM 8193 using round wires. The cross-sectional area of round solid conductors and round concentric stranded conductors, except co

38、mpact and compressed stranded, shaii be deiermined in accordance with the latest edition of ICEA T-27-581/NEMA we 53, or in accordance with ASTM 8263. The cross-sectional area of compressed stranded and compact stranded conductors sha! be determined in ac.c-nrdanc-e with ASTM 8263. 2011 by the Insul

39、ated Cable Engineers Association, Incorporated Section 6 TEST METHODS FOR INSULATION OR COVERING ICEA S-76-474-2011 Page 19 6.1 METHODS FOR MEASURING INSULATION PHYSICAL AND AIR OVEN AGING PROPERTIES When tested in accordance with ICEA T-27-581, the insulation tensile strength and elongation at rupt

40、ure and retention of tensile strength and elongation at rupture after air oven aging shall meet the applicable requirements in Table 3-4 for crosslinked and thermoplastic materials. 6.2 METHOD FOR MEASURING INSULATION HEAT DEFORMATION (DISTORTION) The method for measuring the Heat Deformation (Disto

41、rtion) of the insulation required in Table 3-4 for thermoplastic materials shall be in accordance with ICEA T-27-581/NEMA we 53. 6.3 METHOD FOR MEASURING INSULATION HOT CREEP The method for measuring the Hot Creep of the insulation required in Table 3-4 for crosslinked materials shall be in accordan

42、ce with ICEA T -28-562. 6.4 METHOD FOR MEASURING ABSORPTION COEFFICIENT The absorption coefficient of black 75“C insulation material shall be determined in accordance with ASTM D3349. 2011 by the Insulated Cable Engineers Association, Incorporated ICEA S-76-474-2011 Page20 Section 7 QUALIFICATION TE

43、STS 7.0 GENERAL Qualification tests included in this standaid aie intended to demonstrate the capability of the manufacturer to furnish high quality cable with the desired performance characteristics. Although these tests are not routinely performed, it is intended that the product furnished under t

44、his standard shal! consistently comply wHh all of the qualification test requirements. 7.1 METHOD FOR DETERMINING RESISTANCE TO ENVIRONMENTAL STRESS CRACKING The Environmental Stress Crack test shall be in accordance with ICEA T-27-581/NEMA we 53. Test results shall comply with Table 7-1 . 7.2 SUNLI

45、GHT RESISTANCE OF !NSULT!ON MATERIALS W!TH LESS THAN 2 PERCENT CARBON BLACK 7.2.1 Qualification An insulation sunlight resistance qualification test shall be conducted on specimens of completed 1/0 AWG or larger conductor cable with insulations with less than 2.0% carbon black. Testing shall be cond

46、ucted in accordance with either i .2.2.1 or i .2.2.2. Aii data shaii be recorded and retained. 7.2.2 Sunlight Resistance Five die-cut specimens shall be prepared as in 6.1 and tested for tensile and elongation from (1) unaged sections of the cable and (2) the conditioned specimens, one from each cab

47、le specimen. The respective averages shall be calculated from the five tensile strength and elongation values obtained for the conditioned samples. These averages shall be divided by the equivalent averages of the five tensile and elongation values obtained for the unaged samples. This provides the

48、tensile and elongation ratios for the insulation. The insulation material should be considered sunlight resistant if the original to aged tensile and the elongation ratio is 80 percent or greater after the 720 hours of exposure. 7 .2.2.1 Carbon-Arc Weather-0-Meter Five specimens shall be mounted ver

49、tically in the specimen drum of carbon-arc-radiation and water-spray exposure equipment simiiarto the TypeD apparatus in ASTM G-i52 and G-i53. The test method shaii also be in accordance with ASTM G-152 and G-153. The exposure time shall be 720 hours. 7 .2.2.2 Xenon-Arc Weather-0-Meter Five specimens shall be mounted, top and bottom, on a rack and exposed to xenon-arc radiation and water-spray exposure equipment similar to the apparatus in ASTM G-155. The
