CDPD is a technology intended to provide packet data networking services to mobile hosts. The media used to provide these services consists of radio channels typically used for Adva

40、ve a statement of the capabilities and options of a protocol that an Implementation Under Test (IUT) supports. Such a statement is called a Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS). In the event of any conflict, either real or perceived, between this Part and Part 403, that conflict shal

41、l be resolved in favor of Part 403.2 ScopeThis Part provides the PICS proforma for the MDLP protocol as specified in Part 403 in compliance with the relevant requirements and in accordance with the relevant guidance given in ISO-9646-2. This PICS applies to both user side and network side MDLP proce

42、dures.3 Supplier ActionThe supplier of a protocol implementation claiming to conform to the MDLP protocol as defined in Part 403 is required to complete this PICS proforma as well as provide the information necessary to fully identify the supplier and the suppliers implementation(s).TIA/EIA-732-831

45、sts applicable to a given product based on answers provided in the PICSa71 Is used during the static conformance reviewa71 Is provided in a standard formata71 Allows vendors and manufacturers to supply IUT information in a standardized manner. This benefits vendors, manufacturers and testing agencie

46、s.a71 Benefits Abstract Test Suite (ATS) developers as they can determine whether all relevant parameters and protocol capabilities are covered in the ATSa71 Allows protocol implementors to determine which protocol capabilities must be implemented and whether all relevant protocol parameters are tak

47、en into account in their implementation(s)a71 Benefits protocol implementors as it clearly identifies which protocol capabilities are mandatory, optional or conditional. This reduces the risk of failing to conform to the standard because of oversight or misunderstanding.a71 Benefits vendors, supplie

48、rs and potential purchasers of protocol implementations as the PICS provides a detailed indication of the capabilities claimed to be supported by an IUTa71 Benefits users as it can be used to do preliminary evaluations of IUT interworking. Although interworking can never be guaranteed, failure to in

49、terwork can often be identified by comparing the PICS of IUTs being considered for interworking.
