The fiber
2、rope assembly shall be fabricated from a twisted (laid), three strand manila, 3-1/2 inch circumference rope with a minimum initial breaking strength of 10,800 pounds. The assembly shall consist of one continuous length of manila rope with eye spliced loops on each end. The splices shall be made with
3、 4-full and 1-1/2 tucks. The length of the assembly shall be 20 fet 2 3 inches as determined by measuring from the farthest extremity of each eye spliced loop. The inner perimeter of each eye spliced loop shall be 43 2 1-1/2 inches. The rope shall be natural in color and treated with copper-8-quinol
4、inolate to retard mildew. The minimum length of rope per pound shall be 2.78 feet. 1.2 Marking. The rope assembly shall be marked with a corrosion resistant tag securely fastened to one of the eye spliced loops and shall contain the following information: Fiber Rope Assembly, Single Leg 20 foot, 3-s

The
15、 lot shall be expressed in units of completed fiber rope assemblies, and the sample unit shall be one corrpleted fiber rope assembly. The inspection level shall be II and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. 2.5 Breaking strength test. The rope shall be tested for
16、breaking strength in accordance with ASTM D 4268. The lot size shall be expressed in units of completed fiber rope assemblies, and the sample unit shall be one completed fiber rope assembly. The sample size shall be in accordance with table I. The lot shall be rejected if one or more sample units fa
17、il to meet the breaking strength requirement. TABLE I. Each individually coiled rope assembly shall be
18、 secured with a minimum of four equally spaced ties of cord on rope passing through the coil center to the outside, and knotted on the circumference of the coil. 3.2 Packing. Six rope assemblies, packaged as specified, shall be stacked in a snug-fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to cl
19、ass domestic, grade 275, style optional of PPP-B-636. The dimensions of each container shall be palletizable in accordance with MIL-STD-147. The weight of each shipping container shall not exceed 65 pounds. Shipping containers shall be closed in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. 3.3 Palleti
20、zation. When specified (see 4.21, rope assemblies packed as specified, shall be palletized in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. Each prepared load shall be bonded with primary and secondary straps in accordance with bonding means C and D or film bonding means F and G. Pallet. pattern shal
21、l be in accordance with the appendix of MIL-STD-147. Interlocking of loads shall be effected by reversing the pattern of each course. c 3.4 Marking.
