2、ll federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers requirements for automotive passenger type seat belts, hereinafter called “seat belts”. The seat belts are intended for use in automotive commercial vehicles. 2. CLASSIFICATION. Seat belts are of the following types and lengths: Type I - Bolt-on. Length
3、 1 - 78 inches (in.) Length 2 - 58 in. Type II - Quick disconnect. Length 3 - 76 in. Length 4 - 56 in. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Materials. Materials shall be in accordance with the manufacturers material specifications for seat belts. The use of recovered material made in compliance with regu
4、latory requirements is acceptable providing that all requirements of this CID are met (see 4.1). Identification and markings shall be permanent and legible and shall include , as a minimum, the manufacturers identification code (CAGE), the contract number, and
10、 the part identification number (PIN) (see 7.1 and 7.3). 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Recovered material. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY
11、ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Responsibility for inspection. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this CID and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality assurance practices. It
13、ems with known defects shall not be submitted for Government acceptance. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 6. PACKAGING. Preservation, packing, and m
14、arking shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 7.3). 7. NOTES.
