3、AND-TYPE The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description (CID) for all federal agencies. The original issue of this CID replaced GG-L-261D. 1. SCOPE. 1.1 Abstract. This commercial item description covers hand held, surveying levels used for line of sigh
4、t determination of relative elevation. 2. CLASSIFICATION: 2.1 Type. The hand levels shall be of the following types as specified (see 6.2): Type I Non-telescoping. Type II Telescoping (draw tube). 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Construction. The hand level, regardless of type, shall have the follow
5、ing characteristics: a. A tubular body with an objective lens at one end and at the other, a removable eyepiece suitably sealed to preclude the entry of dust into the instrument. b. Horizontal and vertical cross hairs for use in determining the exact target intercept and vertical orientation of the
6、level. c. An integral focusing arrangement to accommodate the individual eye. d. A permanently mounted instrument level to indicate when the line of sight is horizontal. e. A mechanism that shall project the image or readout of the level indicator magnified 4x to one side of the field of view. f. A

The levels shall be constructed in accordance with the following: a. Type I. The tubular body shall be non-telescoping
8、, with no magnification of the field of view. The overall length of the level shall not be greater than 6.5 inches. b. Type II. The tubular body shall telescope, to afford a 2X magnification of the field of view. With the telescoping portion fully retracted, the overall length of the level shall not
9、 be greater than 6.5 inches. 3.3 Level indicator. The instrument level indicator shall be accurate to within a 0.25 percent gradient from horizontal and shall maintain this accuracy in normal use, handling, and storage for the life of the instrument. 3.4 Carrying case. A carrying case, to fit and pr
10、otect the instrument, shall be provided with each level. The case shall have a securable closure and a loop(s) compatible with a belt 3.00 inches wide. The carrying case shall be fungus resistant. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 4.1 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. The offer
11、or/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 5.1 Market acceptability. The levels offered shall be the latest version of the standard product
12、 of the supplier, that has been used in the field for at least one year by commercial organizations. 5.2 Product conformance. The levels offered shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the manufactures drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and b
13、e the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.3 Examination. The levels shall be examined for compliance with requirements specified in Section 2. Each element of inspection shall encompass all examinations of
14、performance and dimensional requirements. Failure to comply with any specified requirement, or the presence of one or more defects lessening required capabilities, shall constitute cause for rejection. 6. PACKAGING. 6.1 Packaging. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contr
15、act or order (see 7.2) 7. NOTES 7.1 Intended use. The levels are intended to be used to determine approximate differences in elevation, between points a short distance apart.
