2、 agencies.1. SCOPE. This CID covers requirements for four types of miniature incandescent lamps used inmilitary ground vehicles.2. CLASSIFICATION. Miniature lamp bulbs shall be of the following types (see 7.3):Type I - Instrument light.Type II - Auto light.Type III - Stop, tail light.Type IV - Readi
3、ng light.3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS3.1 Materials. Materials shall be corrosion resistant or suitably treated to resist corrosion causedby fuel, salt spray, or atmospheric conditions as may be encountered in storage or normal service.The use of recovered material made in compliance with regulatory re
4、quirements is acceptableproviding that all requirements of this CID are met (see 4.1).3.1.1 Dissimilar metals. Dissimilar metals shall not be used in extremely close contact or havingdirect contact with each other unless protected against galvanic corrosion.3.2 Design and construction. The lamps sha
5、ll be designed as illustrated in figures 1 through 4.Unless otherwise specified herein, the lamp base shall be constructed in accordance with currentANSI C81.61.Beneficial comments, recommendations, additions, deletions, clarifications, etc. and any otherdata which may improve this document should b

21、V).3.3 Coating. The bulbs shall be clear unless otherwise indicated as being red color coated,reflectorized coated, or reflectorized coated-frosted (see figures). Coatings shall firmly adhereand be uniform without discoloring, cracking, fading or peeling.Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction
22、or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-A-A-52463B63.3.1 Reflectorized coating. The reflectorized coating shall cover the area of the bulb indicatedin the applicable figures. The reflectorized coating shall be sensitized to receive a 0.005 inchcoating of pure silver followed by a protec
23、tive copper deposit, and then overlapping aluminum.As an optional procedure, the reflectorized coating may be aluminized by vacuum deposition.3.4 Environment. Lamps shall show no sign of deterioration when exposed to vibration, shock,temperature, or humidity while in use in vehicles.3.5 Rated averag
24、e laboratory life. The rated average laboratory life of the lamps shall be asspecified in figures 1 through 4. Where average life is specified, lamps shall give average life toburn-out of not less than what is specified.3.6 Identification and marking. Identification and marking shall be permanent an
25、d legible andshall include, as a minimum, the lamp industry trade number which correlates with the partnumber.4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS4.1 Recovered material. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to themaximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the
26、 Federal AcquisitionRegulation (FAR).5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS5.1 Responsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of allinspections (examinations and tests).5.2 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidencethat the
27、product offered meets the salient characteristics of this CID and that the productconforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and qualityassurance practices. Items with known defects shall not be submitted for Governmentacceptance. The Government reserves the right
28、 to require proof of such conformance prior to thefirst delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.6. PACKAGING. The configuration of the bulb is designated by the use of a letter (shape) and anumber (size) which expresses the approximate diameter in eighths of an inch.7.6 International interest.
