SCOPE . This CID covers one type of 127
2、x 203 millimeters (mm) (5 by 8 inches (in) steellog-grab hook, which is intended to facilitate towing and skidding logs.2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS2.1 Materials . The hook shall be forged of one piece of steel, and from “H” classification steelswith the required hardness and depth of hardness, confor
3、ming to ASTM A304. The forged hookshall be heat treated to a Rockwell “C” hardness of 30 plus or minus 2. The use of recoveredmaterial made in compliance with regulatory requirements is acceptable providing that allrequirements of this CID are met (see 3.1).2.2 Design and construction . The hook sha
4、ll be formed to an angle of approximately 90 degreeswith a wide throat opening (see figure 1). The hook shall have an eye and projection on one end,a spur on the heel, a plain point on the other end, and the eye shall be radiused around the outeredge to prevent cutting or damage to the wire rope (se

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS3.1 Recovered material
10、. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to themaximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal AcquisitionRegulation (FAR).4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS4.1 Responsibility for inspection . The contractor is responsible for the performance of a
11、llinspections (examinations and tests).4.2 Contractor certification . The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidencethat the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this commercial item description andthat the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specificat
12、ions, workmanshipstandards, and quality assurance practices. Items with known defects shall not be submitted forGovernment acceptance. The Government reserves the right to require proof of suchconformance.4.3 Market acceptability (MA) . The contractor shall provide products which have a provenmarket
13、 record based on the number of items sold, length of time the product has been on themarket, and reliability and performance of the products as required under the contract orsolicitation (see 6.3).5.
