1、INCH-POUND A-A-52556 January 12.1996 SUPERSEDING 13 August 1981 MIL-0-14559C COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION OIL GUN, PNEUMATIC The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID) for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers a hand-operated, pneuma

2、tic oil gun designed to produce degrees of atomization from a fine spray or mist to a coarse spray of oil. The oil gun is designed for use in spray application of oils to automotive, cleaning, degreasing, air dusting, lubricating oils, spraying kerosene and other cleaning solvents. 2. SALIENT CHARAC

3、TERISTICS. 2.1 DescnDtlon . The oil gun shall be as shown in Figure 1 (see 6.4) and shall consist of a body and handle assembly, a fluid container, a barrel assembly; and shall be the siphon feed type and atomize the oils specified herein. Parts subject to wear, breakage or distortion shall be acces

4、sible for adjustment, replacement, and repair. 6、 The use of recovered materials made in compliance with. regulating requirements is acceptable providing that all requirements of this CID are met (see 3.1). 2.3 cons-. The oil gun design and construction shall be representative of a standard commercial oil gun with a market acceptability of durabil

7、ity and performance. 2.3.1 m. The weight of the empty oil gun shall be not more than 4 pounds (lb) (1.7 kilogram (kg). 2.3.2 -. The body and handle shall be any metallic or non-metallic rigid material(s) which assure product resistance to cracking, leaking, corrosion, chipping or flaking during its

8、normal service life. The handle shall be the pistol or modified pistol-grip type, designed to allow easy handling and one-hand operation. 2.3.3 Air cm01 valve. The air control valve shall be corrosion-resistant metal, alloy, non-metal, or equipment composite materials and shall be built into the bod

9、y of the oil gun. The valve shall be actuated by a button or trigger located as to be convenient to the operators thumb or index finger. 2.3.4 Airvalve. The air adjustment valve shall be metal corrosion-resistant metal, alloy, non-metal, or equivalent composite materials and be located as to be conv

10、enient to operate. The valve shall be designed to allow for adjustment of air pressure ranging from line pressure of 50 pounds per square inch gage (psig) (344 kilopascal (kPa) to minimum operating pressure. 2.3.5 Container cova. The container cover shall be flat, recessed surface, built into the un

11、derside of the gun body and threaded internally to accommodate the threaded neck of the fluid container. A gasket shall be provided to ensure a leakproof connection. 2.3.6 Air. The air inlet shall be located on the bottom or the back of the oil gun handle or grip. Inlet shall be threaded with a 1/4-

12、18 NPSM pipe thread. 2.3.7 Fluid. The fluid container shall have a nominal capacity of 1 quart (0.95 liter (L) and shall be corrosion-resistant metal, alloy, non-metal, or equivalent composite. The neck of the container shall be large enough to assure easy filling and shall be threaded on the outsid

13、e. A small vent hole shall be provided in the top of the container or in the container cover portion of the gun body. 2.3.8 m. The barrel shall be corrosion-resistant metal, alloy, non-metal, or equivalent composite materials of rigid construction, not less than 10 inch (254 millimeters (mm) in leng

The nozzle assembly shall be adjustable to control the flow of fluid and the degree of atomiza

15、tion from a fine spray or mist to a coarse spray of oil. The nozzle shall be brass, and shall be designed in such manner to allow easy adjustment without the use of tools. The sides of the nozzle shall be perforated, or other safety devices installed, to prevent oil/air pressure injury to personnel.

16、 2.4 Endurance. The oil gun shall withstand, without damage, 10,000 full trigger strokes at an operating pressure of 50 psig (344 Ea) within a 40 hour period. Upon completion of the 10,000 cycle, the oil gun air valve shall hold entrapped air pressure of 100 psig (690 kPa) for a period of not less t

17、han one minute with no more than 5 psig (34.5 kPa) pressure loss. 2.5 Operh. The oil gun shall spray in varying degrees of atomization as described in 2.3.9 with oils within a viscosity range of SAE 5W to SAE 30 inclusive, at temperatures ranging from +80“F to -20F. The oil gun shall operate through

18、out its spray range with no evidence of malfunction, leakage, distorted spray pattern, or damage. 2.6 v m . Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order (see 6.2), the oil gun shall be marked with the National Stock Number (NSN) and the manufacturers identification code (corporate logo or com

19、mercial brand name). Marking shall be permanent and legible (see 6.2). . 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. 3.1 Recovered m. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable in accordance with paragraph 23.402 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 4.

20、QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 IkspumMlty for impxhm * . The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests). . 4.2 -actor ce-. The contractor shall certify and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of

21、this CID and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards and quality assurance practices. Items with known defects shall not be submitted for Government acceptance. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the

The contractor shall provide products which have a proven record based on the number of items s

23、old, length of time the product has been on the market, and reliability and performance of the products as required under the contract or solicitation (see 6.2). 5. PACKAGING 5.1 berva-. Preservation, packing, and marking for the desired level shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2)
