4、 all federal agencies. The complete requirements for procuring couplings described herein shall consist of this document and the latest issue in effect of A-A-59326. 1. SCOPE. This specification covers a Female by Flange Hexagon Coupling Half, Type VIIIA to be used in conjunction with a D-1 Nozzle.

7、imensioning and tolerancing, see ASME Y14.5M. 2. The size of the coupling assembly shall conform to table I. 3. Dimensions are in inches. FIGURE 1. Coupling half. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. The following characteristics differ from those listed in the latest issue of A-A-59326. 3.1 Hydrostatic test

8、 pressure. The 1 -inch through 4-inch coupling halves shall withstand a hydrostatic test pressure of 300 pounds per square inch gage (psig). 3.2 Working pressure. The 1 -inch through 4-inch coupling halves shall be rated for 150 psi (pounds per square inch) working pressure. 3.3 Accessories. The cou

9、pling shall be supplied with pull rings and gasket. 4. NOTES 4.1 Part Identification Number (PIN). The following PIN procedure is for government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor. 11、tes a style 1 coupling. Material: A - Aluminum Alloy B - Copper Alloy (Brass or Bronze) BA - Aluminum Bronze SS - Stainless Steel Style 1 - Style 1 couplings do not require the incorporation of a positive locking mechanism to lock the cam arms in the closed position but the cam arms shall stay in th

12、e closed position when the coupling halves are assembled. Style 2 - Style 2 couplings shall incorporate a positive locking mechanism to lock the cam arms in the closed position when the coupling halves are assembled. The locking mechanism shall be manually released (the release doesnt have to stay i

13、n the released position) before the cam arms can be moved to the open position.
