The fully packaged and palletized end items shall be examined for the defects listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of palletized unit loads. The

10、 sample unit shall be one palletized unit load, fully packaged. The inspection level shall be S-1, and the AQL, expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 6.5. Six specimens in excess of one y

12、ard each shall be selected at random from different spools in the sample. The six specimens of braid in the relaxed state shall then be cut to exactly one yard each. While in a Standard Condition as defined in FED-STD-191, each yard shall be weighed separated on a balance or, scale accurate to 0.01

13、ounce (a scale or balance graduated in grams may be used and results converted to ounces). of the six specimens shall be averaged and this average value multiplied by 144 to determine the ounces per gross (144) yards to the nearest 0.5 ounce. The weight 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation. Preservation sh

14、all be level A or Commercial, as specified (see 6.2). 3c 5.1.1 Level A. Braid, put-up in the yardage specified in 3.6, shall be neatly wound on a 6-inch spool consisting of a chipboard tube approximately 3/4 inch outside diameter by 1/8 inch wall, mechanically attached to 5-1/2 inch diameter by 1/8

15、inch thick circular ends. Each spool shall be wrapped with a band of transparent plastic film or within minimum 30-pound kraft paper conforming to A-A-203. The wrap shall completely enclose the braid on the spool and shall be secured with gummed or pressure-sensitive tape. 12 Provided by IHSNot for

Braid shall be preserved in accordance with ASTM D 3951. 5.2 Packing. Packing shall be level A, B, or Commercial, as specified (see 6.2). % 5.2.1 Level A

17、packing. Twenty-four spools of braid of one color only, preserved as specified in 5.1, shall be packed in a fiberboard shipping container conforming to style RSC, grade V2s of PPP-B-636. Level A unit packs shall be packed on the circular ends, four in length, three in width, and two in depth within

18、a shipping container. Inside dimensions of the container shall be approximately 22 1/2 inches in length, 17 inches in width, and 12 1/2 inches in depth. Approximate dimensions are furnished as a guide only. The top and bottom of the contents of each container shall be covered with a sheet of 30-poun

19、d minimum basis weight kraft paper conforming to A-A-203. shipping container shall be closed, waterproofed, and reinforced in accordance with the appendix of PPP-B-636. Shipping containers shall be arranged in unit loads in accordance with MIL-L-35078 for the type and class of load specified (see 6.

20、2). Strapping shall be limited to nonmetallic strapping, except for type II, class F loads. Each 5.2.2 Level B packing. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The braid is intended for use as piping on clothing. 6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition
