Except as otherwise indicated, materials shall conform to the applicable portions of the documents referenced herein. When materials to be used are not specifically designated, they shall be suitable for the pur
19、pose intended. 3.1.1 Nylon duck. Nylon duck shall conform to MIL-C-7219, 7.25 OZ., class 1, Type III, O.G. 106. 3.1.2 Webbinq. Webbing for the tie straps shall conform to type IIb, class 4 of MIL-W-530. Reinforcing webbing shall conform to type II (hard texture), class 4 of MIL-W-530. Webbing shall
20、be vat dyed olive drab No. 7. The webbing shall be made mildew resistant by evenly depositing, within the webbing, a maximum of 1.28 percent copper-8- quinolinolate in lieu of the maximum specified in MIL-W-530. 3.1.3 Polyester thread. Thread for all stitching shall conform to V- T-285, for type II,
21、 class 1, letter size FF. The thread shall be vat dyed olive drab shade S-1, conforming to the United States Army Standard Color Card. The finished thread shall show good colorfastness to laundering, chlorine bleaching, and weathering. 3.1.4 Metal components. 3.1.4.1 Endpieces, and leqs, and sidepie
22、ces. Aluminum tubing, both round and square, shall be aluminum alloy 6062-T6. As an alternate, endpieces and legs shall be aluminum ally tubing temper T6, conforming with QQ-A-200/8, 1-1/8 inches outside diameter and 0.065 inch wall. Side pieces shall be round cornered, square aluminum alloy tubing
23、temper T6, conforming with QQ-A-200/8, 1-1/8 inches square and 0.065 inch wall. 3.1.4.2 Hinqe assembly. Hinge Assembly shall be a heat treated aluminum alloy sand casting, alloy 356 T6 conforming to QQ-A-601, class 3, or as an alternate an aluminum alloy die casting conforming to QQ-A-591, class A 3
24、80. Assembly shall be with 3/16 inch by 1-5/16 inch roundhead, monel metal or corrosion-resisting steel, annealed, bright-finished rivets. 3.1.4.3 Leq ansle braces. Leg angle braces shall be spring steel wire, 1/4 inch diameter. 3.1.4.4 Rivets. Rivets shall be aluminum alloy 2017114. 3.1.4.5 Buckles
25、. Buckles shall conform to PiIl-B-543 for type II, style 4, class I, 5/8 inch. 3.1.4.6 End clips. End clips shall conform to MIL-C-496 for type I, 5/8 inch, brass. 4 / 7 - /- -y. 26、7906 02b0857 b U a MIL-C-36465A 3.1.5 Bindinq. Edge binding shall be lightweight cotton tape conforming to type I, class 4 of MIL-T-43566. Tape shall be vat dyed olive drab no. 7. 3.2 Construction. Construction shall conform to the requirements specified herein and to drawing 2109. Each unit shall b
27、e completely assembled. 3.2.1 Stitches, seams, and stitchings. All seams and stitchings shall be straight and shall conform to FED-STD-751. Stitches shall be type 301, formed by machine, with 8 to 12 evenly spaced stitches per inch. The ends of each continuous row of stitches (including ends due to
28、thread breaks) shall be anchored by-backstitches for a length of not less than 1 inch, except where anchorage is provided by another seam or stitching. Thread tension shall be properly maintained so that the lock will be embedded in the center of the material sewed. 3.2.2 Construction Details. Const
29、ruction shall be in accordance with DPSC drawing 2109, and as hereinafter specified. The removable cover shall be made of one piece nylon duck as shown on the drawing. overall dimensions of the cot shall be 75-1/2 inches long, 27 inches wide, and 16-3/8 inches high in the Set-up flat position. The c
30、ot shall measure 39 inches by 27 inches by 4-1/2 inches when folded. The cot shall have two adjustable sections, one on each end, each measuring 18 inches long and adjustable from the horizontal to 45 degrees above the horizontal in steps of 15 degrees. Tolerances shall be as shown on the drawing. T
31、he end clips for the tie straps shall be firmly attached without cutting the webbing which shall be inserted full depth and be flat at the point of entry. Turnunders and seams shall be neatly made. No loose or raveled edges shall be exposed. All cutouts shall be reinforced by webbing as shown on the
32、 drawing except that the edge binding specified in 3.1.5 shall be an acceptable alternate. In addition the turn back on the sides of the cover shall be more than 3 inches, if necessary, in order to utilize excess mater ia1 . The e 3.3 Finish. 3.3.1 Deqreasinq. All surfaces shall be thoroughly cleane
33、d and chemically degreased prior to chemical treatment. 3.3.2 Aluminum parts. All aluminum parts shall be finished with a chemical film conforming to MIL-C-5541. 3.3.3 Primer. After degreasing and chemical treatment, a primer coat shall be applied to all metal parts except the hardware and leg angle
34、 braces. The primer shall be zinc-chromate conforming to TT-P-1757. 35、amel. The primer coat shall be followed by one coat of lusterless olive drab enamel conformins to TT-E-527. The resultant finish shall be hard, smooth, and highiy resistant to abrasion, chipping, and cracking. The color of the final finish shall be lusterless olive drab conforming to color X34087 of
36、 FED-STD-595. 3.3.5 Buckles and end clips. Buckles and end clips shall have a black oxidized finish. 3.4 Identification marking. On the underside of the cover, approximately 4 inches from one end and centrally located, there shall be stenciled, using black waterproof ink or waterproof. stencil paint
37、, the name or registered trademark of the manufacturer, the contract or purchase order number, and the letters U.S. The size of printing shall be not less than 1/2 inch high. 3.5 Workmanship. Workmanship shall be first class throughout. Complete cots shall be free from defects which detract from the
38、ir appearance or may impair their serviceability. Stains on the nylon duck, for use in fabricating the end item, shall not be cause for rejection of the end item. Minor distortion of the tubing at the corner bends shall not be cause for rejection, provided the strength of the frame is not impaired a
39、nd the dimensional tolerances are not exceeded . 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements (examinations and tests) as specified her
40、ein. Except as otherwise specified, in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the in
41、spections set forth in this specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items shall meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification sha
42、ll become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with al
43、l requirements of the contract. Sampling inspection, as part of manufacturing operations, is an acceptable practice to ascertain conformance to requirements, however this does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to accep

Inspection, as used in this specification, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory inv
45、estigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item. 4.1.3 Certificates of quality. When available, certificates of quality, supplied by the manufacturer of the component or material
46、, listing the specified test method and test results obtained, may be furnished in lieu of actual performance of such testing by.the contractor. 4.2 Samplinq. 4.2.1 For examination.
