This specification covers a pressure shutoff control (valve) with hose assembly used for filling military standard collapsible drums of 500-gallon capacity. 2. Unless otherwise speci
15、fied (see 6.21, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3 and 6.3). deviations of the control assembly from the approved first article during production will be subject to the approval of the contracting officer. The control assembly shall be fabricated from compatible materials, inherently corrosion resistant or treated to provide protection against the various forms of corrosion and deterioration that may be encountered in any of the applicable operating and stora
18、ge environments to which the control assembly may be exposed. 3.3.1.1 Dissimilar metals. Dissimilar metals shall not be used in intimate contact with each other unless protected against galvanic corrosion. Dissimilar metals and methods of protection are defined and detailed in MIL-STD-889. 3.3.1.2 I
19、dentification of materials and finishes. The contractor shall identify.the specific material, material finish or treatment for use with component and subcomponents, and shall make information available upon request to the contracting officer or designated representative. 3.3.2 Sealing compound. Seal
20、ing compound conforming to MIL-S-7916 shall be used on all pipe threads. 3.4 Environmental conditions. 3.4.1 Operating temperature. The control assembly shall perform as specified in ambient temperatures from -40 - +3 OF to +125 - +3 OF. 3.5 Functional use. The control assembly shall perform the fol

The inspections set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. absence of any inspections requirements in the specification shall
24、not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government: for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual,

The assembled inlet valve body, outlet valve body, and valve cover shall withstand a hydrostatic pressure of 200 psig for 2 minutes without leaking, sweating, or visible deformation at any point
26、 on the surface. 3.7 Identification marking. “he control assembly shall be identified in accordance with MIL-STD-130. 3.8 Workmanship. The control assembly shall be free from any defects which could reduce serviceability. The castings shall be clean, sound, and free from blowhales, hardspots, porosi
27、ty, cracks, and other injurious defects. All burrs and sharp corners shall be removed. 3.9 Recovered materials. For the purpose of this requirement, recovered materials are those materials which have been collected from solid waste and reprocessed to become a source of raw materials, as distinguishe
28、d from virgin raw materials. The components, pieces and parts incorporated in the control assembly may be newly fabricated from recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, provided the control assembly produced meets all other requirements of this specification. Used, rebuilt or remanufac
29、tured components, pieces and parts shall not be incorporated in the control assembly. 3.10 IIuman factors engineering. The control assembly shall conform to human engineering criteria as described in MIL-STD-1472, paragraphs 4 (General Requirements), 5.4 (Controls), 5.5 (Labeling), 5.6 (Anthropometr
30、y), 5.9 (Design an Maintainability), and 5.13 (Hazards and Safety). 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. t

The first article control assembly shall be examined as specified in 4.5.1. Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection. 4.3.2 Fi

Sampling for examination shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.2 Examination. Samples selected in accordance with 4.4.1 shall be examined as specified in 4
37、.5.1. AQL (Acceptable uality Level) shall be 1.0 percent defective. 4.4.3 Tests. 4.4.3.1 Valve. Each assembled inlet valve body, outlet valve body, and valve cover shall be tested as specified in table I. Failure of the test shall be cause for rejection. 4.4.3.2 Control assembly. Each control assemb

Each control assembly shall be tested for leakage. The valve inlet shall
39、 be assembled to a pumping unit and the valve exit hose assembly shall be assembled to OPW fitting No. 77A and No. 77B or equal. The OPW fittings shall be assembled to a single opening drum having provisions for a pressure gauge connection and a drainage connection. When fluid flow through the contr
40、ol assembly has been initiated, the stop button of the cyclic valve shall be depressed to stop the flow of fluid through the valve. pressure at the inlet side of the valve shall be less than 60 psig. The brass plug on the underside of the valve at the venturi throat section shall be removed. The val
41、ve shall be in the closed position for 15 minutes, +30 seconds, and valve surface. Any evidence of continuous dripping shall constitute failure of this test. 45、lete, or illegible. Human factors engineering not as specified. 4.5.2.1 Hydrostatic. Subject the assembled inlet valve body, outlet valve body, and the valve cover to a hydrostatic pressure of 200 psig for a period of not less than 2 minutes. Nonconformance to 3.6 shall constitute failure of this te
46、st: e 4.5.2*2 Test cycle. Using test fluid conforming to MIL-F-46162, one testing cycle shall consist of (1) depressing the fill button of the cyclic valve to start the flow of fluid, (2) depressing the stop button of the cyclic valve to stop the flow of fluid and, (3) depressing the fill button of
47、the cyclic valve to start the flow of fluid and allowing the fluid to flow until automatic shutoff o the flow when the pressure at the venturi throat gauge reads 5 70.50 psig. of flow) and automatic shutoff, a minimum of three readings of the pressure shall be taken simultaneously at the drum gauge
