SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the inspection of the parts and the loading, assembling and packing for one type of electric detonator designat

REQU I REMENTS 3.1 Material. - Materials and parts shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and sp

9、ecifications. 3.2 Detonators. - The detonators shall comply with all re- quirements specified on Drawing (dwg, 9205891, and with all require- ments specified in applicable specifications. 3.3 Moisture content. 2 -. . ._ Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without lic

10、ense from IHS-,-,-3.6 Functioning. - The detonators shall comply with the fol lowing: 3.6.1 Time. - The detonators shall fire on the first at- tempt within 50 microseconds. attempt and shall make a 3/16 inch minimum (min.) perforation in a .1345 inch thick lead disc. 3.6.2 Output. - The detonators s

11、hall fire on the first IL-D-48221 13 W 7977706 0317597 3 U MI L-D-48221 (MU) 3.3.1 Lead azide. - The moisture content of the lead azide at the loading station at the time of loading the det- onator shall not exceed 0.50 percent. 3.3.2 PETN. - The moisture content of the PETN at the loading station a

12、t the time of loading the detonators shall not exceed O. 50 pe rcen t. 3.4 Resistance between shorted lead wires and cup. - The resistance between the shorted lead wires and the cup shall be not less than 50 megohms. 3.5 Waterproofness. - The detonator chal 1 be waterproof as evidenced by normal fun

13、ctioning after being immersed in water maintained at a temperature of 70 degrees Fahrenheit (F.) plus or minus 10 degrees F. for a period of 48 hours, minimum, at a depth of 2 to 3 inches. 3.6.3 Duds. - The detonators shall not fail to fire on the first attempt. 3.7 Workmanship. - All parts and asse

14、mblies shall be fab- ricated and loaded in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They sha be free of burrs, chips, sharp edges, cracks, surface defects, dirt, grease, rust, corrosion products and other foreign matter The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the parts be contam

15、inated by the cleaning agent. All re- quired markings shall be neat and sharply defined. 3.8 First article inspection. - This specification makes provisions for first article inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract.

17、rmance of al 1 inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the con- tract or order, the supplier may use hic wn or any other faci li ties sui table for the performance of the inspection re- quirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Govern- ment. The Gov

18、ernment reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the Specification where such inspec- tions are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requi rements. Reference chal 1 be made to Standard MIL-STD-109 to define terms used herein. The pro- vision

19、s of MIL-A-2550 shall apply. . 4.1.1 Submission of Product. - At the time each completed lot of i tem deliverable under the contract is submitted to the Government for acceptance, the contractor shall supply the fol- lowing information accompanied by a certificate which attests that the information

20、provided is correct and applicable to the product be i ng s ubmi t ted : a. A statement that the lot complies with all of the quality assurance provisions specified in this specification. b. Drawing and specification number and date, together with an identification and date of changes thereto. c. A

21、statement that all material purchased by the con- tractor meets requirements, when such material is controlled by Government or commercial speci fi cations referenced i n any of the contractual documents, and that certificates of conformance are on file and available for review, except that a statem

22、ent of findings for the misture content of each explosive shall be submi tted with each lot submitted for acceptance. d. Number of items in the lot. e. Date submi tted. The certificate shall be signed by a responsible agent of the cerfitying organization. The initial certificate submitted shall be s

25、The first article sample shal 4.2.3) which have been produced by the contractor or furnished by a supplier, and which have been manufactured using the same production processes, procedures and equipment which wi 11 be used in fulfilling the contract. All parts and materials shal be obtained from the

26、 same source of supply as will be used in regular production. Prior to submission, the contractor shall inspect the sample to the degree necessary to assure that it conforms to the requirements of the contract and subml t a rec- ord of this inspection with the sample, including certificates of confo

29、25 each of every part shall be submitted in accordance with the provisions of 4.2.1 for inspec- tion as specified in 4.2.2.1. 4.2.2.1 Inspections to be Performed. - The parts will be subjected by the Government to any or all of the applicable examinations specified in 4.3.2 of this specification and

30、 any or all requirements of the applicable drawings. 4.2.2.2 Rejection. - If any part or assembly fails to com- ply with any of the requirements, the first article sample shall be rejected. The Government reserves the right to terminate its inspection upon the failure of an item to comply with any o

31、f the requirements. In the event of reject ion, the Government reserves the right to require the contractor to take corrective action and submit a new first article sample or portion thereof. Until a first article sample is accepted, the contractor is in no way authorized by the Government to initia

32、te regular production unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer. 4.2.3 Loaded Detonators. - A sample of 185 loaded detona- tors shall be submitted in accordance with the provisions of 4.2.1 for testina as specified in 4.2.3.1. 33、mitted without license from IHS-,-,-MI L-D-48221 (MU) 4.2.3.1 Test to be Performed. - The loaded detonators shall be tested as specified in 4.3.3.6, Table II 4.2.3.2 Rejection. - The loaded detonator first article sample shall be rejected if the sample fails to meet the criteria of 4.3.3.6.2. In the

34、 event of rejection, the Government reserves the right to terminate its inspection upon failure of any deto- nators to comply with the stated requirements. ln the event of rejection, the Government reserves the right to require the con- tractor to take corrective action and submit a new first articl

35、e sample or portion thereof. Until a first article sample is ac- cepted, the contractor is in no way authorized by the Government to in tiate regular production unless otherwise directed by the Con t rac t i ng O f f i ce r . 4.3 Inspection Provis ions 4.3. Lot Formation. - The term “inspection lot“

36、 as used in this spec fication is defined as an essentially homogeneous col- lection o units of product from which a representative sample is drawn and inspected to determine conformance wi th applicable requi rements. The sample selected shall represent only that quantity of units from which the sa

37、mple was drawn and shall not be construed to represent any prior or subsequent quanti ties presented for inspection. Homogene ty chal 1 be considered to exist provided the inspection lot has been produced by one manufacturer, in one unchanged process, using the sam materials and methods, in accord-

38、ance with the same drawings, same drawing revisions, same specifi- cations and same specification revisions, and complies with the provisions for submission of product as specified in Standard MIL- STD-105. Changes to the process, speci f cat ions or drawings not affecting safety, performance, inter

39、changeability or storage, as determined by the Government, chal 1 not be deemed to al ter the homogeneity of an inspection lot. All material submitted for in- spection in accordance with this specification shall comply with the homogeneity criteria specified herein, regardless of the type of samplin

40、g procedure which is being applied, to determine con- formance with requirements. Lot numbering, as requi red, shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. Each inspection lot of loaded detonators chal 1 contain: a. Metal parts from not more than one lot interfix b. PETN of one lot from one supplier. c

Lead azide of the same type from not more than two (2) lots produced by the same manufacturer in accordance with the same specification and same specification revision, and which have subsequently been sub-jected to uni form control led drying and operating conditions at the loading plant. number

Inspection for cri tical defects (and

43、major defects, when so specified) shall be 100 percent. Sampling plans for major and minor defects shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105 except that continuous sampling plans in accordance with MIL-STD-1235 may be used if approved by the Government. Instead of applying the AQLs designated herein t

44、o the groups of major and minor defects listed, the contractor may elect to apply AQLs to individual defects using an AQL Of 0.40 percent for each major defect and an AQL of 0.65 per- cent for each minor defect. When this method is elected, it shall be appl ied to al 1 of the major and minor defects
