SCOPE 1.1. Scope. This specification describes the requirements and verific

2、ation methods for the DUMMY CAP, BLASTING: non-electric, 5 minute inert time fuse delay, M32. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 General. The documents listed in this section are specified in sections 3 and 4 of this specification. This section does not include documents in other sections of this specifica

3、tion or recommended for additional information or as examples. While every effort has been made to ensure the completeness of this list, document users are cautioned that they must meet all requirements documents cited in sections 3 and 4 of this specification, whether or not they are listed. 2.2 Go

Unless otherwise noted herein or in the contract, in the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, ho

11、wever, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1. Required inspections. 3.1.1. First article. When specified, a sample shall be subjected to the first article inspection in accordance with 4.2. 3.1.2. Conformance inspection. A sampl

12、e of the M32 shall be subjected to conformance inspection in accordance with 4.3. 3.2. Materials, components, and assemblies. All materials, components and assemblies shall comply with the requirements of 13030291. 3.3. Dummy blasting cap attachment integrity. The dummy blasting cap shall not separa

13、te from the dummy fuse after exposure to not less than a 15 pound axial force for not less than 5 seconds. 3.4. Storage temperatures. The M32 shall show no evidence of material degradation after exposure to the temperature range of -65F to 165F. 3.5. Ammunition lot numbering. Ammunition lot numbers

14、shall be assigned in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. 3.6. Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be clean and free of burrs, sharp edges, unblended radii, surface defects, chips, dirt, grease and oil, corrosion products and other foreign matter. The dummy time fuse shall have no pin holes, bubble

15、s, breaks, discontinuity, kinks, twists, burrs, or similar defects. The dummy blasting cap shall not be cracked, bulged, scratched, or deformed. 16、th, uniform, unsmeared in appearance and free of conspicuously ragged edges. There shall be no bleeding of color markings to the extent that there is a mottled or streaky appearance. The markings shall show no lifting, wrinkling, or other visible effect on the plastics surface. The markings shall be

17、 applied on clean, dry surfaces that shall be free of dirt, oil, grease, water, corrosion, or other foreign matter. Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specifie

20、d herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.2). b. Conformance inspection (see 4.3). 4.2. First article inspection. When specified, a sample shall be subjected to first article verification in accordance with Table II. 4.2.1. First article rejection. If any assembly, compo

21、nent, or test specimen fails to comply, the sample and first article shall be rejected. 23、wing, in the order listed: conformance inspections, storage temperature conditioning, and the dummy blasting cap attachment integrity test. 4.3. Conformance inspection. 4.3.1. Conformance rejection. If any assembly, component or test specimen fails to comply with the requirements, the lot from which

24、 the sample was taken shall be rejected. 4.3.2. Inspection lot formation. Inspection lots shall conform to the requirements of MIL-STD-1916. In addition inspection lots shall contain materials from not more than of one lot interfix number from one manufacturer. 4.3.3. Inspection requirements by clas

25、sification of characteristics. a. For the conformance inspection paragraphs 4.3.3.1 through 4.3.3.2, the definitions of critical, major and minor defects are provided in paragraph “Definitions” of MIL-STD-1916. b. The acceptance criteria for sampling inspection shall be in accordance with the levels

26、 provided in conformance examination/test paragraph and MIL-STD-1916.4.3.3.1 Cup. Blasting cap attachment integrity test. The test shall be conducted on the M32. Secure

28、the dummy blasting cap. Apply the specified axial load to the dummy time fuse for the specified length of time. Verify that the dummy blasting cap remains attached to the dummy time fuse. Visually verify the M32 remains in compliance with the workmanship and marking requirements. The samples and lot

29、 shall be rejected if the dummy blasting cap detaches from the dummy time fuse. 4.5. Storage temperature test. The test shall be conducted on the unpackaged M32. The samples tested at hot shall be conditioned at no less than 165F. The samples tested at cold shall be conditioned at no greater than -6

30、5F. The samples shall be conditioned at hot/cold for no less than 72 hours. After conditioning, the samples shall be returned to uncontrolled ambient temperature and stabilized for no less than 4 hours. Visually verify the M32 remains in compliance with the workmanship and marking requirements. The

36、rking requirements. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging. For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When packaging of material is to be performed by DoD or in-house contractor personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packag

37、ing activity to ascertain packaging requirements. Packaging requirements are maintained by the Inventory Control Points packaging activities within the Military Service of Defense Agency, or within the military services system commands. Packaging data retrieval is available from the managing Militar

38、y Departments or Defense Agencys automated packaging files, CD-ROM products, or by contacting the responsible packaging activity. 6. NOTES (This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful, but is not mandatory.) 6.1 Intended use. The M32 is an inert replica o

39、f the M14 and is used to train both the M14 (5 minute delay) and M18 (20 minute delay). The M14 and M18 are used to initiate all past and current fielded and developmental demolition items such as explosives, shaped charges, and cratering charges. 6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents

40、should specify the following: a. Title, number, and date of this specification, and of all reference documents cited in section 2 and applicable documents from section 6. b. Requirement for first article inspection. c. Requirement for conformance inspection. d. Packaging requirements exist for this

41、item. e. Packaging inspection requirements exist for the packaging of this item in accordance with 13026892. Detailed directions and additional information may be obtained from RDAR-QEM-G. f. Requirement for ammunition data cards as specified in MIL-STD-1168. g. Requirement for acceptance inspection
