The use or repositioning of the slides shall not abrade the line and means shall be employed to preclude the line ends fraying or loss of the slides. 3.1.3 Storage container. The reusable storage container shall be rigidly constructed of
13、 a polyethylene or similar non-corroding material that is suitable to extended use in operating temperatures of -25 F to 120 F and extended storage at temperatures of -28 F to 160 F. The case shall not be greater than 36.00 x 24.00 x 16.00 (high) inches, and not greater than 30 pounds with a capacit

The closure shall effect an environmental seal but shall not be airtight. The container shall be provided
17、with handles, stays, latches, and hinges flush with the exterior surface, recessed, or internal to the container. 3.1.3.1 Handles. The handles shall have a nominal 90 degree stop, for use, and incorporate a method to return the released bail to rest. The bail shall be padded and suitable for use by
18、personnel (see 3.5.9 in MIL-DTL-53126) wearing arctic mittens. The handle, and its mounting, shall withstand the shear of lifting and the tensional and torsional forces of dragging the fully loaded container, in any of the environments specified herein. 3.1.3.2 Stays. The container shall be provided
19、 with an integral stay(s) that will hold the lid in an open position of 90 to 105 degrees unassisted, indefinitely, in any of the environments specified herein. Operation shall be incidental to the opening of the chest, except that user intervention is permissible for locking in place. 3.1.3.3 Latch
