SCOPE .- 1.1 Scope. This specification covers the requirements and quality assurance provisions for the

2、loading, assembling and packing of the 14776 Mechanical Time Super Quick (MTSQ) Fuze. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. MIL-F-70713 (AR) 28 AUGUST 1987 MILITARY SPECIFICATION FUZE, MTSQ, M776 LOADING, ASSEMBLING AND PACKING 2.1.1 Specifications and Standards. The following specificat

3、ions and standards form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise specified, the issue of these documents shall be those listed in the issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) and supplement thereto, cited in the solicitati

In the event of a conflict betwe

10、en the text of this specification and the references cited herein, (except for associated detail specifications, specification sheets or MS standards) the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing in this specification, however shall supersede applicable laws and regulation unless sp

11、ecific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material. Materials and parts shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Fuze assembly. The M776 MTSQ fuze assembly shall comply with all re,quirements specified in drawing (dwg.) 12361000 and with all requirements

The fuze assembly shall comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-331A

13、, Test 123, and of 3.8.1, 3.8.3 and 3.8.5. 3.4 Jolt and jumble. The fuze assembly shall comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-331A, Test 101.3, Procedure 2 and Test 102.2. 3.5 Drop test, 1.5 meter. The fuze assembly shall comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-331A, Test 111.1. 3.6 Waterproofness

14、. The fuze assembly shall comply with the requirements of MIL-STD-331A, Test 108, except that the duration of immersion shall be five (5) minutes minimum and the pressure shall be three (3) psig min. 3.7 Torque. The fuze assembly timer setting section shall not move when a torque of 30 kpcm min. is

15、applied. The timer setting section shall move when a torque of 55 kpcm max. is applied. 3,8 Ballistic performance (proving ground). 3.8.1 Premature burst. There shall be no premature burst or metal parts failure in the mortar tube or in the first 100 meters of flight. 3.8.2 Arming safety. The fuze s

16、hall not function on impact against a 25mm min. plywood screen positioned at a distance of - 40 meters t/- i meter. - 3.8.3 Fuze functioninq time (702). The fuze, when set in the time mode, shall cause the projectile to function within the upper (UL) and lower (LL) time limits and shall not exceed t

17、he maximum allowable percent defective as specified below. The fuze, when set in the time mode, and conditioned at -5OOF OK 1450F, shall cause the projectile to function within the upper (UL) and lower (LL) time limits and

19、shall not exceed the maximum allowable percent defective requirement as specified below. When a fuze is set to function in the air and funct

20、ions on impact or does not function at all, it shall be considered a dud. 3.9 First article. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspections in accordance specified herein. (see 4.3 and 6). 3.10 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be

21、 fabricated in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of burrs, sharp edges, cracks, dirt, rust and other foreign matter. The cleaning methods shall not be injurious to any part, nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. Exterior surface coating shall be uniform and cont

22、inuous except for a few light scratches not exposing any base material. All required markings shall be neat and sharply defined. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract OK purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the perf

23、ormance of al1 inspection requirements as specified herein. contract or purchase order, the contractor may utilize his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to

All items must meet all requirements of sections

26、 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or suppli

27、es submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of any defective material. inspection shal

Inspect ion lot shall comply with the lot form

33、ation provisions of MIL-A-48078. In addit ion, each inspect ion lot of fuzes shall contain: a. Fuze components from one lot interfix number from one manu facturer. b. Expelling charges of one lot interfix number from one manufacturer. 4.4.2. Examination. See MIL-A-48078. Unless otherwise specified i

The inspection equipment required to perform the examination and tests prescribed herein is described in the “Paragraph Reference/Inspection Method“

40、 column in the tables starting with 4.4.2.1. The contractor Shall submit for approval inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See section 6 of MIL-A-48078 and 6 of this specifications. 4.5 Methods of inspection. 4.5.1 Transportation vibration. The test shall be per

41、formed on complete fuze assemblies (dwg. 12361000) set “S“. The test shall be conducted in accordance with the procedures outlined in MIL-STD-331A, Test 123. The sampled fuzes shall then be fired as detailed in 4.5.5.2. If any fuze becomes unsafe or inoperable following the test, then the fuze shall

42、 be classed defective. In addition, the fuzes shall meet the requ ir emen t of 3.8.3. 4.5.2 Jolt and jumble. The test shall be performed on complete fuze assemblies (dwg. 12361000) set “S“ . The jolt test shall be conducted in accordance with the procedures outlined in MIL-STD-331A, Test 101.3, Proc

43、edure I. Following the completion of the jolt test, the fuzes shall be subjected to the jumble test in accordance with the procedures of MIL-STD-331A, Test 102.2. 4.5.3 Drop test, 1.5 meter. The complete fuze assemblies without the pull wires, set “S“, shall be assembled to inert loaded projectiles

44、as specified in the contract and be subjected to the 1.5 meter drop test. The test shall be conducted in accordance with the procedures outlined in MIL-STD-331A, Test 111.1, Procedure 1. After this test, the fuzes shall be disassembled to determine the fuzes have been armed or become unsafe in anywa

45、y. If so, the condition shall be classed defect ive. 4.5.4 Waterproofness. The complete fuze assemblies shall be subjected to the waterproofness test. The waterproofness test shall be tested in accordance with the procedures outlined in MIL-STD-331A, Test 108, except as provided in 3.6. After the te

46、st, the fuzes shall be disassembled and examined under ultra-violet light. 47、R) 4.5.5 Ballistic test. 4.5.5.1 Arming safety. The fuzes shall be assembled to inert filled 60mm cartridges. The fuze shall be set “S“, fired at charge 1 at zero (O) degree elevation, against a one inch plywood screen set at 40 +/- 1 meters from the muzzle. If any fuze functions upon impacting the

48、screen, the fuze shall be classed as a defective. The fuze may function behind the screen. 4.5.5.2 Fuze functioninq time. The sampled fuzes shall be assembled to 60mm, M721 cartridges and fired from an M224 mortar at elevations between 800 mils and 1511 mils for air burst functioning. All fuze setti

49、ngs shall be photographed using an instant, self processing camera. Three independent infrared sensing chronograph systems or equivalent shall be used to measure time of burst. The three recorded time values for each round shall be rounded to the nearest .O1 second. At least two time values are necessary to calculate the estimate of
