(a) Intended use: The oil covered by this specification is intended for use wherever a general pupse, law tempe

19、rature, lubricating oil is required. It is specially designe3 for use where an oil of law evaporation, possessing rust pttive praperties is desired. (b) Limitations: Not to be used in engine applications. This is a law detergent oil. See G. (c) Stock numbers: Refer to Apjpdx F-for stock nm. (d) cons

20、tituent-materials: The oil shall be of a fraction of petroleum refined to meet the requirements of the specification, and containing additive . materials to impart corrosion protection and oxidation resistance properties. 2.1.6 MIL.ammercial type vehicles used for addnhtrative (post, camp, .and stat

23、 autamatic pilots, shock absmkrs, brakes, flap control mechanisms, missile hydraulic servo-amtrolled system, and other hydraulic systems using synthetic sealing material. This fluid has limited use in ground for identification purposes. The recQBmnended operating taperature ranges are clased system.

24、 For Sealed system pressurized with inert gas, a maximum operating oil tenperatwe of 260 % (500 9) can be tolerated for short pericds (not to exceed 15 min.). 1 equipent since it does not pravide for rust protection. This oil is dyed red -54 tQ 71 % (-65 to 160 ?F) in open. systems and -54 to 135 %

25、(-65 to 275 9) in (b) Limitations: This material has a rather high rate of evaporation and should not be used as a general pqme high temperature hydraulic fluid. Shipnent and storage of systems filled with this fluid require drain and refill. with MIGH-6083, Hydraulic Fluid, petroleum Base, for pres

26、ewation and testing. This fluid is not interchaqeable with any other type or grade of hydraulic fluid. The flash point of this product could be belm 100 %. (c) Stock numbers: Refer to appendix F for stock numbers. (d) - Constituent materials: This hydraulic fluid consists of light petroleum fraction

27、s, a viscosity index inpmver, an oxidation inhibitor, and anti-war agents. 2.2.2 MIGH-6083, Hvdraulic Fluid, Petrolebn Base for presewation and oceration. (a) Intended use: The primary interded uses of this fluid are, (1) as an operation and preservative hydraulic fluid in ground pent such as in rec

28、oil mechanisms and other CCBnbat and canbat support rade1 .28.8-35.2 cSt at 40 % (104 %) Grade2 41.4-50.6 cSt at 40 % (104 OF) Grade3 61.2-74.8 cst at 40 % (104 9) Grade4 165 to - -Ost at 40 % (104 9) Ihe selection of hydraulic fluids Sh0uld.k based on the mmmendation of the equi- manufacturer. Ihes

29、e hydraulic fluids may also be used in applications requhing corrosion inhibited and oxidation resistant lubricating oils. Grades 1, 2 and 3 possess good anti-wear properties. (b) Limitations: These fluids are not inbmhangeable with each other. Grade 4 Md not be used where anti- praperties are criti

30、cal. (c) Stock numbers: -fer to appendix F for current stock numbers. (d) Qonstituent materials: This hydraulic fluid wnsists of a refinea petroleum oil, with additives as necessary. 31、9 CFR 1910.1200 shall be used. See FED-SIW313 for additional infomation. 2.2.4 MIGH-46170, Hvdraulic Fluid, Rust Inhibited, Fire Resistant, Synthetic HMmmrbon Base. (a) Intended use: Type one is intended for use in recoil mechanisms and battle tank turret hydraulic system. This fluid has superior fi

32、re resistant characteristics CcBnpared to MIGH-6083 fluids and has been evaluated and found satisfactory for use in the M-W/M-48 series tank. If used in other CcBnbat vehicles, a study should be made to determine its applicability, particularly in the area of seal aapkibility and law tempera tu oper

33、ability in such system. Since this fluid is rust inhibited, it may be used as a presewative medium for hydraulic systems and CcBnpOnents. Type two is a preservative fluid for aircraft hydraulic systems and CcBllpOnents. This fluid is dyed red for identification plqmses. See appxdix H for vehicle CCB

34、nponent application. (b) Limitations: For retrofit of hydraulic system containing MIGH-6083, draining of MIGH-6083 should be as -coqlete as possible. contamination of MIGH-46170 with MIGH-6083 or MIGH-5606 seriously affects the fire resistant characteristics of this fluid. ?his fluid cannot be used

35、in self-propelled artillery due to its viscosity at -54 % (-65 9). Refer to am F for C-JUrrent Stock numbers.
