REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material.-The materials and parts for the initiator subassembly shall be in accordance
9、 with the applicable drawings and specifications listed in 2.1. The materials for the outer cup and the inner sleeve shall have a tolerance of + 1 percent for tin, + 0.75 percent for the zince, ana + 0.5 percent for cadmium. - - 3.2 Stability.-The propellant for the front support shall not completel
10、y change the color of the methyl violet paper to salmon pink color in less than sixty (60) minutes when tested in accordance with 4.3.3.1. 3.3 Bulk Density,-The bulk density of the front support shall be 1.30 grams per cubic centimeter naximum when tested as specified in 4.3.3.2, 2 Provided by IHSNo

12、ulvaent, and tested in accordance with 4.3.3.3 (see 6.5). 3.5 Crush strength.-The crush strength of the front support shall be 100 pounds minimum in the vertical direction and 40 pounds minimum in the horizontal direction when tested as specified in 4.3.3.4. 3. Workmanship.-All parts and assemblies
13、shall be fabricated and finished in a thorough, workmanlike manner. They shall be free of chips, cracks, dirt, grease, flux, rust, corrosion products and other foreign matter. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part, nor shall the parts be contaminated by the cleaning agent. All
14、required markings shall . be neat and sharply defined, 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection.-Unless otnerwise specified in tne contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherw
15、ise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specif
16、ication where such inspections are deened necessary to assure sugpies and services conform to prescribed requirements. Refereme shall be made to Standard MIL-STD-109 in order to derine terms used herein. The provisions of Specification MIL-A-2550 shall apply. 4.1.1 Submission of product.-At the time
17、 the completed lot of items deiverable under the contract is submitted to the Government for acceptance, the contractor shall supply the following information accompanied by a certificate which attests that the information provided is correct and applicable to the product being suSmitted: quality as

The initial certificate slibmitted shall be substantiated by evidence of the agents authority to bind hi
21、s principal, Substantiation of the agents authority will not be required with subsequent certificates unless, during the course of the contract, this authority is vested in another . agent of the certifying organization. 4.2 First article inspection 4.2.1 Submission. -Prior to initiation of regular
22、production, the contractor shallsubmit a first article sample to the Government facility designated by the contracting officer (see 6.4) for evaluation in accordance with the provisions of 4.2.2. The first article sample shall consist of 25 sets of initiator parts (i.e., bridge ribbons, inner sleeve
23、s, outer cups and front supports) which have been produced by the contractor or furnished by a supplier and which have been manufactured using the same production processes, procedures and equipment, which will be used in fulfilling the contract. All parts and materials, including packaglng and pack
24、ing, shall be accompanied by certificates.!of analysis for materials. A first article saniple, or portion thereof, as directed by the contracting officer, shall also be submitted whenever there is a lapse in production of 90 days, or whenever a change occurs in manufacturing process, material used,
25、drawing, specification, or source of supply so as to significantly affect product uniformity as determine by the Government, Prior to submission, the contractor shall inspect the sample to the degree necessary to assure that it conforms to the requirements of the contract and submit a record of this
26、 inspection with the sample. A sample containing known defectives will not be submitted unless specifically authorized by the contracting officer. 4.2.2 Inspections to be performed.-The components shall , be inspected for conformance to any or all of the requirements of this specification and any or
27、 all of the requirements of the applicable drawings 4.2.3 - Rejection.-If any component fails to comply with any or all of the applicable requirements, the first article sample shall be rejected, The Government reserves the.right to terminate its inspection upon the failure of 8 component in the sam
28、ple to comply with any of the stated requirements. In the event of rejection, the Government reserves the right to require the contractor to take corrective action and submit a new first article sample or portion thereof. Until a first article sample is accepted, the contractor is in no way authoriz
29、ed by the Government to initiate regular production unless otherwise directed by the contracting officer. 30、 or front supports shall consist of parts produced by one nanufacturer in one unchanged process in accordance with the same drawing, and same drawing revision, same specification and same specification revision. Drawing, specification, and process changes not affecting safety, performance or interch
31、aneeability, as determined by the Government, shall not necessitate changing the lot interfix number. The criteria and procedures for the assignment of inspection lot interfix numbers shall be in accordance with Standap MIL-STD-1168. 4.3.1.2 Bridge ribbons.-A lot shall consist of all bridge ribbons
32、produced by one manufacturer to the same drawing, same drawing revision, sane specification, and same specification revi- sion using the same punch and die and stamped fFom one continuous roll of preforned ribbon which has been certified by the supplier as complying with the applicable material stan
33、dard, The criteria and procedures for the assignment of inspection lot interfix numbers shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1168. 4.3.2 Examination.-Sampling plans and procedures for the following classifications of defects shall be in accordance with Standard MIL-STD-105 except that inspection for
34、critical defects, when listed, shall be 100 percent. Also, at the option of the procuring activity, AQLs and sampling plans nay be applied to the individual characteristics listed using an AQL of O. 40 percent for each major defect and an AQL of 0.65 percent for each minor defect. 4.3.2.1 Cup, outer

A ranom sample of five test specimens of 2.5 grams each shall be tested for each lot of propellant, Failure of any sample to meet the requirement of 3.2 is cause for lot rejection. 4.3.3.2 Bulk Density (see 3.3), Major defect
45、, Code No. 06001.- Lot sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-414, Inspection Level IV with an AQL of 0.40 percent. Bulk derisity of individual front supports shall be determined in accordance with ASTM-D-792 using water as the imnersion liquid. If the sample fails the acceptance criteria the
46、-lot shall be rejected (see 6.6). 4.3.3.3 Relative Quickness (see 3.4), Major defect, Code No. 07001.-The relative quickness of the front support shall be determined at 8500 psi using a sufficient number of randomly selected front supports per lot to provide aloadinp; density of 0.2g/cc in a nominal
47、 200 cc closed bomb. A minimum of six separate tests shall be conducted for each lot. Testing shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-286, Method 801.1 and shall be conducte at 70 + 2OF If the average of the six values obtaine fails the requirement of 3.4, the lot of front supports shall be re:ected. 43
