7、EQUIREFENTS - 3.1 Material. The material shall be methyl formate (MF) conforming to the. following requirements: 3.1.1 Form. The material shall be a clear colorless liquid at ambient conditions and shall be free of dirt, chips, and other foreign matter when examined as specified in 4.4.3.1. 3.1.2 In

Requirements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. (see 6.1). 4. QUALITY ASSTJRANCE PROVISIONS 4.1

The government reserves the right to inspect the contractors equipment and determine that he has available and utilizes correctly, measuring and test equipment of the required accuracy and precis
14、ion and that the instruments are of the proper type and range to make measur.ements of the required accuracy. Commercial in- spection equipment, shall be employed where applicable for all tests and examinations specified in 4.4.3. The contractor is responsible for assuring proper calibration procedu
15、res are followed. Government approval of inspection equipment is re- quired prior to its use for acceptance purpose. 4,4,3 Test methods and procedures. (see 6.2) The tests in 4.4.3.1 thru 4.4.3.3 shall be performed using prescribed analytical procedures for replicate. determinations given in standar
16、d analytical textbooks. bottle and visually examine sample for compliance with 3.1.1. spectrographic analysis of the material in accordance with method given in ASTM-E168. 4.4.3.3 Purity. 4.4.3.3.1 Water. Determine the water content in the 4.4.3.1 Form. Pour sample into a suitable clear glass 4.4.3.
17、2 Infrared Spectroscopy. Perform an infrared sample in accordance with ASTM-E203. 4.4.3.3.2 Other Impurities. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packing 5.1.1 Level A and Level C. Unless otherwise specified, the MF shall be packed in accord
19、ance with manufacturers commercial practice to assure acceptance by commom carrier for safe delivery at first destination for immediate use. 5.2 Marking. Unless otherwise specified, the ship- ping containers shall be marked in accordance with MIL- STD-129, and shall include the lot number. 6. NOTES
20、6.1 Ordering data. See MIL-A-48078 (PA). 6.2 Prior approval of the Contracting Officer is re- quired for use of equivalent test methods.
