This specification covers the loading, assembling and packing of the Special Test Mine (ST?I)/ for the Mine, Anti-p$rsonnel M86 assembly of the munition contained therein. 2. In the event of a conflict between -.I_ the text of this specification and the references cited herein. a (except for associated detail specifications, specification shhets or MS standards) the text of this specification sh

16、all take precedence. Nothlng in this specification, however shall supersede applicable laws and regulation unless specific exemption has been obtained, 3 . mQUlREMENTS 3.1 Material. Materials shall be in accordance with the ap2licable drawrcgs and spzcif ications, 3.2 Components -_-.-_I and assembli

17、es. 3.2.1 Mine. The Special Test Mine (STM) shall comgly with all requirements specified on Drawing (Dwg. 9366705 and 9366661) all associated drawings and with all requfrements specified in applicable speciZications. 3.2.2 Munition. The inert munition and components shall comply with all reyuiresent

18、s specified on Dwg. 9398449, all associated drawings and with all requirements specified in applicable spec i f ica t ions including MIL-B-7 07 3 1, MIL-M-7 07 80, MIL-M-70777, MIL-S-70776, MIL-M-70778 and MIL-M-60697. - 3.3 Functioning. 3.3.1 Arming. There shall be no arming of the ShA, firing of t

19、he piston actuator or the gas generator prior to 25 seconds after depressing the battery ball. 3.3.2 Safe dud. The mine, if not functioned by any external - or internal mode, shall not function after the maximum self destruct time lias elapsed. 3.3.3 - Hazardous dad. All safe duds when tested as spe

20、cified in 4.5.5.1, shall not be capable of functioning after the inaxiinuin self destruct tine has elapsed. 3.3.4 _-.I_- Anti-disturbance functioninq. - The mine shall function in the anti-disturbance mode as the mine is disturbed by two (2) different movements to two (2) different sides. 3.3.5 Brea

21、kwire functioninq. The mine shall functign in the -.-I breakwire mode when any deployed tripline is puiled with a minimum force of one hundred and forty grams (140 g) to rnax force of six hundred grams (600 4). 3.3.6 Self-destruct functioning. The mine shall be capable of self-destructing itself wit

The mine shall not self-destruct itself by any internal mode w

23、ithin 80% of the self-destruct tine. 3.3.8 Tripline - dxloyment. The mine after ground impact and with unobstructed field; shall deploy a minimum of three (3) triplines with at least one (1) deployed tripline attaining a minimum of deployed length of thread of ten (10) feet and two (2) others provid

24、ing additional length to total. sixteen (16) feet for three (3) triplines. 3.4 Documentation of plan for safety in handlinq-of munitions. Prior to loading, the conkractor shall document a dtailed plan of the procedures to be employed during handling of the munition. This documentation shall describe

25、, as a minimum, the procedure:; to be employed to assare that: 1. The shorting bar is not deEormed or broken. 2. The battery is not activated. 3. The two munition models remain segregated at al1 times. 4. The exterior model markings on each mine are consistent with the munitions it contains. -0 5. T

26、he temperature o the molded assemblies, or the munition does not exceed 1650F at my time during processing or s tor aye. 6, The temporary safety pin is present. 7. The mounting plate insulator is properly installed. 8. The special test mines shall always be marked and segregated from the other munit

27、ion models. The plan shall be submitted to the address specified in 6.7 for approval. Approval shall be received prior to any loading. Any changes to the approved plan shall be submitted for approval prior to implementation. 3.4.1 Documentation of controls for use of adhesives and sealants, The cont

28、ractor shal develop a documented operational procedure for utilization of adhesives and sealants. This procedure shall provide for control of the materials and processes to be used; iricluding controls for the following: shelf life, handling, mixing, curing and pot life. Necessary cleaning agents, s

29、afety precautions, ventilation, and any other information considered necessary for the proper use of the adhesive(s) or sealant(s) shall also be included. 31、olding the kill mechanism and overlay assembly into the housing, timing, and fuzing. The plan shall breifly describe the entire process and shall fully document the controls to be implemented for maintaining the process. The controls shall include, as a minimum, all the checkpoints referenced in 6.4

32、. Submission of this plan shall be in accordance with Data Item Description. Approval of the plan shall be limited to the controls to be employed and not the overall potting process, nor shall such approval relieve the contractor, in any way, of the responsibility for producing acceptable product. 3

33、.5 Compressive strenAth of molding comnound. The molding compound for assembling the plug to the hgsin(3ghall comply with MIL-M-48245. The resin/hardener weight ratio shall be 2.0/1.0 + 5% (1.8/1 to 2.2/1) and the ultimate compressive strength shallbe 29,000 to 38,200 psi. -_-I _ 3.6 Temperature con

34、trol during molding and cure of munition. _I_- - -y- -.- - The munition shall not be sub2ect;ed to temperatures exceeding 165OF at any time. 3.7 _- First article inspection. This specification contains technical srovisions for first =ticle inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article

35、 samples by the contractor shall be as specified in the contract. 3.8 Workmanshk. - All parts and assemblies shall be fabricate, loaded and assembled in a thorough, workmanlike manner, They shall be free of burrs, sharp edges, cracks, dirt, grease, rust and other foreign matter that may impair prope

36、r functioning. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any ?art, nor shall the ?arts be contaminated by the cleaning agents. All required marking and stamping shall be neat and sharply defined. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsihilitx -A- -I-_. foc Inzection. - Unless otherwise

37、specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible ?or the performance-of all inspection requirements as spciEied herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may utilize his own or any other facilities sutiable for the performance o

38、4 the inspection requirements specified herein, uniesc disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. a 5

L- All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set fort

40、h in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or cupglies submitted to the Government fo

41、r acceptance coinply with all requirements of the contract. Sampliiig in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, .either indicated or actual nor does it, commit the Government to acceptance of any defective material. 4.2 -.-_- Classification of ins_t3ections. .

42、-A- The following types of inspection shall be conducted on this item. a. First Article Inspection (see 4.3) b , Quality Conformance 1nspe.ctioii (see 4.4) 4,3.1 -,-.I_ Submission. The contracLor shall submit a first article as designated by the Contrauting Officer for evaluation in accordance with

43、provisions of 4.3.2. The first article sample shall consisi- of the following items in sample quantities as indicated. Special Test Mine Test bars Bag Assembly 9366705 12910118 12 2 12 4.3.2 Inspections _-._-I- to -.I- be performed. - See MIL-A-48078 and Table I herein, 4.3.3 Rejection. - See MIL-A-

44、48078. The first article sample shall be rejected if any mine fails to comply with any of the examinations or tests specified in this specification or any of the requirements of the applicable drawings. In addition, the first article sample shall be rejected if the mines any one of the following def

45、ects: a, Any premature arming of the S fire the detonator, piston actuator or gas generator prior to 25 seconds after depressing of the battery ball. Those units to be tested in the anti-disturbance mode shall bl tested by rolling the item from one face ta another, Units which fail to function on th

46、e Eirst attempt shall be tested in the breakwire mode. Recording equipqent may be used to determine the time of unctioning of item tested in the self-destruct tima. After the maximum time-out time has elapsed plus one hourt the impact area shall be sqarched for non-functioning munitions. Any munitio

47、n which has not functioned shall be treated as a hazardous duit until it can be determined that the item is not capable of functioning. This shall be determined as follows using suitable protection and safety precautions for personnel. handling the munitions: a. Perform visual obseivakion to assure

48、the battery ball. is depressed, th,e shorting bar is sheared and to determine if there is any evidence that the detonator has functioned. b. If it cannot be determined whether or not the detonator has funtioned, attempts shall be made to function the item by tipping about an edge, pulling all deploy

49、ed triplines. If the detonator functions at any time, the item shall be classed as a hazardous dud. c. If the item has not functioned after the above external inputs have been applied, it shall be placed in an approved explosive handling box and removed from the impact area. d. A-tei: a minimum sterilization period from
