2、ce. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This specification covers nitr Sampling, Zxamina- tion and Testing. MIL-STD-1233- Procedure for Determ- ining Particle Size Distribution and Packing Density of Powdered Mat erial. MIL-STD-1235- Single and Multilevel Continuous Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by

3、Attributes. (Copies of speciications, standards, drawings and publications required by suppliers in connection with specific procurement functions should be obtained from the procuring activity or as directed by the contracting officer). 2.2 Other publications. The following docu- ment forms a part

Nitroguanidine, as received, shall be a white, free flowing, crystalline powder, when tested as specified in 4.3. 3.2 Properties. Nit

8、roguanidine shall be in accordance with the chemical properties spe- cified in table I, when tested in accordance with the applicable subparagraphs specified therein (see 6.4). 3.3 Average particle size. Nitroguanidine shall comply with the average particle size specified in table II, when tested in

The supplier is responsible for the perform- ance of all inspection requirements as speci- fied herein. Except as otherwise specified

11、, the supplier may utilize his own or any other inspection facilities and services acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such in- spections are deemed necessary to assure sup- plies and services conform

12、to prescribed re- quirements. Reference shall be made to Stan- dard MILSTD-IO9 in order to define the terms used herein. Inspection shall be per- formed in accordance with this specification and other specifications referenced in any of the contractual documents. 4.1.1 Contractor quaitq assurance sy

13、stem. If the contractor desires to utilize a quality assurance system, which is at variance with the quality assurance provisions of 4.2 and 4.3 and other documents referenced herein, he shall submit a written description of the system to the contracting officer for approval prior to initiation of p

14、roduction. It shall in- clude a description covering controls for lot formation and identification, inspections to be performed, inspection stations, sampling procedures, methods of inspection, (measuring and testing equipment), and provisions for control and disposition of nonconforming ma- terial.

15、 The written description will be con- sidered acceptable when, as a minimum, it provides the quality assurance provisions re- quired by the provisions of 4.2 and 4.3 and the other documents referenced herein. The contractor shall not be restricted to the in- spection station or the method or inspect

17、tain procedures of the contractors system provide equal assurance, the comparable procedure of this specifica- tion shall apply. The contractor shall notify the Government of, and obtain approval for, any changes to the written procedure that affects the degree of assurance required by this specific

24、ainer shall be sampled. 4.2.3.1 PrtymrutiiMt of composite. Equal pri- mary samples in sufficient quantity to total 16 ounces shal be removed from each con- tainer. The individual primary sampIes shall then becombined in order to form a homo- geneous composite sample of sixteen ounces and subjected t

25、o the tests specified in 4.3. If the composite sampIe fails to comply with any of the requirements specified, the lot shall be rejected. 4.3 The foliowing test methods and proce- dures shd be used. 4.3.1 Deteiminution of purity. Code No. 07001. The purity shall be determined by either the nitrometer

26、 method or the alter- native chromous chloride method. 4.3.1.1 Nitrometer method. The nitrometer method specified in Standard MILSTD-286, method 209.3 shall be used as the standard method for purity except that a 3 gram sam- ple shall be crushed so that it will pass through a U. S, Standard Number 1

27、00 sieve. A 1 gram sample shall be dried in air a 46“ Centigrade (O C.), overnight and then placed in an oven for 1 hour at 100“ C. 28、 transferred to the nitrometer. The percent nitrogen shall then be converted to percent nitroguanidine by the following formula: 7.430R w Percent Nitroguanidine = Where: R = reading of measuring tube W = sample weight 7.430 - correction factor 4.3.1.2 Chromous ChEonde Method. 4.3.1.2.1 Chromous Chlo

29、ride (0.2 Normal (N) StanduI 4OO-milliliter beaker. If necessary the solution shall be fil- tered through a No. 42 Whatman filter paper, or equal. The solution shall be made acid by the addition of 1 milliliter of concentrated hydrochloric acid, which shall be followed by the addition of 1 millilite

30、r of 10 percent bari- um chloride solution. The solution shall be boiled for approximately 5 minutes and then allowed to stand, With occasional gentle stir- rings, until cool. The solution shall then be allowed to stand for at least 10 hours. At the end of this period,. the solution shall be heated

31、to boiling and filtered through a previ- ously ignited and tared Gooch crucible equipped with a fine asbestos mat. The pre- cipitate shall be washed with small portions of warm distilled water, sucking each portion through before adding the next. The last few washings shall be tested with 1 percent

32、silver nitrate solution to see that all chlorides have been removed. When free of chlorides the Gooch crucible shall be tHnsferred to an oven maintained zit 100“ t 2“ C., followed by 1 hour in a muHe furnace, maintained at 600“ C. The crucible shaiI then be transferred to a desiccator until cod, and
