The sample selected shall represent only that quar-tity of units from wkich the

23、ltrate with 2 drops of dilute nitric acid and 2 drops of slightly acidified ferric alum solution on a white spot plate. If extraction is not complete, as shown by a red coloration, continue treatment of the residue with 10 ml. portions of the solvent, when extraction is complete, as shown by absence
24、 of red coloration when %wo drops of the filtrate are tested, wash the crucible and resieue thoroughly with water, collecting the washings with the monium ace5ate filtrate, residue with alcohol and ether, and aspirate until the odor of ether is no longer detectable. Then place the crucible with cont
25、ents in an oven at 100 degrees Centigrade for 15 minutes, and cool in a desiccator, and weigh. weight of the empty crucible and calculate the difference to percentage of antimony sulfide in the szmple. Stir for 1 or 2 n:inutes lcrger, then Figes, on , steam bath for 1 hour, with freqcent stiyring. The pre cipitate should have a reddish-orange color. on a tared filterlng
