This specification contains requirements and provides Quality Assurance provisions for the fabrication of parts, assembly and packing of Power Supply Assembly used in the M718Al/M74lAl Mines, Electronic Assembly. 2. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 _l_l-.- Materials. - Materials shall be in accordance with the 3.2 Components _I_.-._II_ and assemblies. -I The components and assemblies applicable drawings and specifications. shall comply with all requirements specified on drawing 9342580 and 9287159 with al1 requirements s
13、pecified in applicable specifications and standards. 3.3 Electrical - requirement. 3.3.1 l-l_-ll- Non-activated voltage. Each battery cell shall be unactivated and measure less than O05 volts. 3.3.2 Shortingbar - -I.- resistance. The shorting bar and connector assembly shall have less than 0.8 ohm r

The battery assembly lead welds shall not fail or show any evide
15、nce of tearing or breaking when the leads are subjected to a five (5) pound plus two (2) pounds pull. 3.5 Battery lead weld integritx. The battery assembly lead welds shall not show any evidence of fracture, crack or any damage to the battery case (hole in case). 3.6 Soldering. 3.6.1 - Shorting bar
16、and connector assembly solder -.-L. workmanshin Soldering of the shorting bar and connector assembly shall be in accordance with MIL-S-45743. . 3.6.2 Solderability. The power supply assemblies ribbon leads shall comply with solderability requirements of MIL-5-45743. 3.7 First article inspection. Whe
17、n specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with technical provisions herein. (See 4.3) 3.8 Workmanship. All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and finished in a thorough workmanlike manner and all manufacturing processin
18、g and assembly operations shall be correctly performed. All parts shall be free from chips, dirt, grease, corrosion products and other foreign matter. The cleaning method used shall not be injurious to any part nor shall the part be contaminated by the cleaning agents. All marking and stamping shall
19、 be neat and sharply defined. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of a1 inspecstion requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the co
20、ntract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification wher
21、e such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. All items must meet all requirementcof section 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors
23、 overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assuring that all products or supplies submitted to the Government for accestance comply with all requirements of the contract. Sam
24、pling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective material. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The following types of inspection shall be conducted on this item. a. First Ar
25、ticle Inspection b. Quality Conformance Inspection 4.3 First article inspection. 4.3.1 -111 Submission. The contractor shall submit a first article sample, as designated by the Contracting Officer, for evaluation in accordance with the provisions of 4.3.2 and 4.3.3. The first article sample shall co
26、nsist of the parts/assemblies listed below in the quantities indicated. Part Description Drawing Quant?arts. In place of normal sanpling an6 insGections associated with the Classification of Defects, and after a curing time for the parts has been approved (See Note 1). The Contractor may, itith the
27、appraval of the Government, select a sample of three (3) parts (as molded) from each cavity to be fully inspected dimensioaally (all dimensions on drawing) t3 qualify a new or reworked cavity for use iii production. The molded ?arts shall carry the individaal cavity identification. As a control of e
28、ach cavity during production, the above quantity of parts Erom each cavity shall be inspected for at least the defects listed in 4.4.2.1 after continuous production of each 5,000 parts or at the end of each week, whichever occurs Eirst. Of the three (3) samples, one (1) sample shll be the last part
29、produced. If any defective parts are found during qualification of the cavity, the cavity producing the defective part will not be used in production. If any defective paris are found when inspection is performed for the control of the cavity, the cavity producing the efective part shali be removed
30、from 2roduction. Further, that portion of 2roduction since the last control check shall be returned to the contractor for inspection or each se2xate type of defect according to MIL-STD-105, using an AQL of 0.40 percent for each major defect and an AQL of 0-65 percent for each minor defect. All cavit

Contractor design of gages and test equfpent required to perform the inspectians listed herein shall be forlrarded to Commander, AMCCOM, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000, ATTN: MGMC-QAT-I (D) for approval prior to manufacture of equipment. The noted subparagraphs identify those items and
33、 minimum inspections subject to the requirements of this paragraph. 3 NOTE 1: In establishing a curing time, dimensionally check ten (10) parts from each cavity at periodic intervals (e.g. every 30, 60 etc. mins.) until dimensional stability is attained. The curing time will be from the time the par
34、t comes out of the mold until dimensional stability is attained. The inspection data used in determining the curing time shall be sent to AMCCOM, Picatinny Arsenal, New Jersey 07806-5000, ATTN: ANSIC-QAT-M (D). When a new cavity is substituted, an old cavity reworked, or the material or cycle time c

Each battery cell of the power supply assembly shall be checked
36、 for conformance with the requirements of 3.3.1 when measured by a 10 megohm input impedance voltmeter. (Non-destructive test) 4.5.2 Shorting bar resistance. The continuity-resistance of each shorting bar circuit shall be measured, using an approved ohmmeter. Observation shall be made for compliance
37、 with requirements of 3.3.2. (Non-destructive test) 4.5.3 Battery lead pull test. A five (5) pound plus two (2) pound force shall be applied to each lead in a direction parallel to the lead using approved test equipment. Observation shall be made for comsliance with requirements of 3.4. 4.5.4 Batter
38、y lead weld integrity. Visual examination of the lead welds shall be performed at a minimum of lox magnification. Observation shall be made for compliance with the requirement of 3.5. 4.5.5 Shorting bar and connector assembly solder workmanship. -_I_ Soldering and inspection shall conform to MIL-S-4
39、5743. Visual examination shall be performed at a minimum of lox magnification. Observation shall be made for compliance with requirements of 3.6.1. (Non-destructive test) subjected toty procedure of MIL-S-45743. Observation shall be made for compliance with requirements of 3.6.2. (Des truc tive test
40、) 4.5.6 Solderability. The power supply assembly leads shaZ1 be O 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation and packaginq. The Power Supply Assembly shall be preserved and packaged in accordance with MIL-STD-1169, level C. 5.2 Packing. Packing of the assemblies shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1169 level C.
41、5.3 Marking. Marking shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1169. Lotting shall comply with MIL-STD-1168. 5.4 Shippinq. When shipments from more than one lot are shipped as a carload, each lot shall be kept separate than the division between lots clearly indicated to prevent mixing of lots in transit.
