In the event of a conflict between the text of

11、 this specification and the references cited herein ( except for associated detail specifications, specification sheets or MS standards), the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing. in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific e

12、xemption has been obtained. 3 REQUIRE24ENTS 3.1 Materials and components. 3.1.1 Materials. All materials cited on Drawing 116-3-104 or on the sub- sidiary drawings shall conform to the specifications listed thereon or to the specific characteristics set forth on the drawings. 3.1.2 Components. All c

14、e. 5: 3.2.1 In-line pressure check gauge assembly. The assembly (Drawing 116-3- 53) shall not leak when tested in accordance with 4.4.6.i(a). 3.2.2 Pressure check gauge assembly. The assembly (Drawing 116-3-62) shall not leak except that a naximum pressure drop of 100 pounds -per square inch zage (p

15、sig) in one minute is allowed Ghrough the air vent when tested in accordance with 4.4.6.i(b). 3.3 Preproduction. Prior to the start of regular production, a preproduc- tion sample of service kit components shall be produced for examination and tests in accordance with this specification. 3.4 Workman

16、ship. The service kit components shall be free from foreign matter , damage , hose irregularities , dents or abrasions that would prevent their intended use. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the con- tract OF purchase order, the contrac

17、tor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements speci- fied herein, unless di

18、sapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 Responsibility for compliance. All items must neet all

19、 requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirements in the specification shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of assiring th

20、at all products or supplies submitted to the Government for acceptance comply with all require- nents of the contract. Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize sub- mission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of defective

21、 material. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: 4.3 (a) Preproduction inspection (see 4.3). (b) Preproduction inspection. Quality conformance inspection ( see 4.4) . 4.3.1 Sample. A preproduction sample of five each of al, Compone

23、( EA) 4.3.2 Inspection procedure. 4.3.2.1 For examination and tests. The sample components and subassemblies shall be examined and tested in accordance with the classification of defects. 4.3.2.2 Acceptance/rejection criteria. If any assembly, components, or test specimen fails to comply with any of

24、 the applicable requirements, the preproduc- tion sample shall be rejected. The Government reserves the right to terminate inspection upon any failure of any assembly, component, or test specimen to comply with any of the requirements. 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. 4.4.1 Lotting. with bIIL-8 .

25、 Each lot shall be identified and controlled in accordance 4.4.2 Sampling for examination and nondestructive tests. Sampling shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 4.4.3 Inspection procedures for examination and nondestructive test. The service kit components and the level. A packaging s

32、ests. Tests shall be conducted as follows: 4.4.6.1 Leakage. (a) In-line pressure check gauge assembly. The assembly shall be subjected to a minimum of 200 psig air pressure for a minimum period of one minute and observed for leakage. Check for leakage with a suitable leak detect- ing solution (see 6

33、.3). (b) Pressure check gauge assembly. The assembly shall be subjected to a minimum 2100 psig air pressure. Stabilize the pressure and “top-off“ to 2100 psig ninimum. Check for leakage with a suitable leak detecting solution. If leakage is observed through the air vent, observe the gauge for one mi

34、nute minimum and record the pressure drop (see 6.3). 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Cleaning. The components shall be cleaned, as necessary, to be free of foreign matter that would interfere with the satisfactory performance of, or cause damage to the item. Cleaning shall be in accordance with cleaning pro- cess

35、C-l and drying shall be in accordance with any of the drying procedures outlined in NIL-P-. 5.2 Preservation and unit packing. 5.2.1 Level A. Level shall be as specified (see 6*2). I 5.2.1.1 Gauge assembly, in-line pressure check, 300 psig. The gauge, cleaned in accordance with 5.1, shall have openi

36、ngs closed with plastic clo- sures conforming to MIL-C-5501/7 and then wrapped-in a piece of bound fiber cushioning material whose dimensions in inches shall be 1 by 5 by 12 and con- forming to type IV, class A of PPP-C-1120. The wrapped gauge shall then be enclosed in a fiberboard box having inside

37、 dimensions in inches of 4-1/2 by 4-1/2 by 3 length, width and depth, respectively and conforming to b76c, style RSC of PPP-B-636. The box shall be closed in accordance with method III or IV of the appendix to PPP-B-636. bag, size 8-3/4 bx 10 conforming to type II, ClassE, style 1 of MIL-B-117. The

38、box shall be free of any projections or sharp edges or points that could rupture or damage the barrier bag. Included air volume shall be kept to a practicable minimum when the bag is sealed. 39、, cleaned in accordance with 5.1, shall have openings closed with plastic closures conform- ing to MIL-C-5501/7 and then wrapped in a piece of bound fiber cushioning material whose dimensions in inches shall be 1 by 7 by 12 and be placed in a fiberboard box 7-1/4 by 4-1/2 by 3 inches inside length,
