7、nois.) 3. muImms 3.1 Surface finish.- Unless otherwise specified, all material furnished shaU be descaled. 3.2 Mechanical properties. 3.2.1 Yield strength.- The yield strength range shall be as specified in the contract, on the order, or on applicable ravings. 3.2.1.1 biaJbmum yield strength.- The s

8、pecifie yield strength range may -be exceeded providingthe percent elongation, percent reduction of area, and V-notch Charpy impact resistace do not fall below values specified-in table I for the upper limit of the required yield strength range. 3.2.2 Impact resistance. - The transverse V-notch Char

9、py impact resistance at -bF. shall equal or exceed that shown in table I for the yield strength of the lot being inspected. 3.2.2.1 Material less than 7/16 inch in thickness. -Charpy impact resis- tance tests sha not be required on niateria less than 7/16 inch in thickness. However, at the option of

10、 the contracting officer, the contractor may be required to demonstrate, by special tests prescribed by the contracting officer and agreed to by the contractor, that the material he proposes to furnish is satisfactory insofaras impact resistance is concerned. 3.2.3 Tensile ductility.- The reduction

11、of area and elongation shall equal or exceed Yne values shown in table I for the yield strength range of the lot being inspected. .
