REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Fiaterials and components. All materials and components cited on Drawing DL90-1-44 and sirbsidi
7、ary drawings shall conform to the specifications listed thereon or to the specific characteristics set forth on the drawings, 3.2 Assembl . The warhead shall be assembled in accordance with rawi ngd4 (see 6.3) . 3.3 Ballistic test (proof testing). Warheads shall be provided for Government proof test
8、inq (see 4.1.2. 4.2.2.2. 4.2.4. and 4.2.51. The - - , - warheads shall be activated, and each shall broduce*a high-order detonation upon impact in the designated target area. 3.4 Workmanshi . The warhead shall be free from contaimination and damage + suc as cracks or deformation which could affect i
9、ts intended use. 4 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. 4.1.1 Suppliers responsibility. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the perfor- mance of all inspection requirements as specified herein, Except as otherwis
10、e specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements Specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specific

The Government shall be respon- sib
12、le for proof testing. Samples shall be forwardea to the proving ground designated by the contracting officer (see 6.2). 4.1.3 Objective evidence. The supplier shall provide objective evidence acceptable to the contracting officer that the requirements of 3.1 and section 5 for which specific inspecti
13、on has not been pro- vided in this specification have been satisfied. 4.2 Qual i ty conformance i nspecti on, 4.2,1 Lottin A lot shall consist of the M156 rocket warheads, of one inter ix num er, produced by one manufacturer, in one unchanged process in accordance with the same drawings, the same dr
14、awing revision, the same specification and the same specification revision. However, no more than one lot of loaded fuzes of one interfix number from one manufacturer, and one lot of loaded bursters of one interfix number from one manufacturer shall be represented in any one lot of finished warheads
15、. 4.2.2 Sampling. 4.2.2.1 For examination. Sampling shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105 or MIL-STD-1235. 4.2.2.2 For ballistic test (proof testing). A random sample of 24 warheads shall be selected from each lot. Each such warhead shall be marked with an identification number. 4.2.3 In
16、spection procedure. 4.2.3.1 For examination. Sample warheads shall be examined in accordance with the classification of defects and MIL-STD-105 or MIL-STD-7235 as applicable. percent defective shall be applied to each major defect. Prior to firing, each sample warhead shall be X-wed for radioqrahc record of the condition of the fuze and of the entife warhead. The X-ray shall be identified by the number of the warhead and examined by p
21、rooving ground personnel prior to firing of accepted lot. Each sample warhead shall be attached to an accepted motor and fired into the designated target area. 4.2.5 Ballistic test procedure. The M156 warhead shall be assembled in accordance with 3.2 and function fired at 10 degrees quandrant eleva-
22、 tion for impact on a land range. 4,2,6 Acceptance/reJection criteria. The assembled warhead shall be packaged in fiber cans in accordance with Drawing F8886811. 5.2 Packing, level A. Four warheads packaged as specified in 5.1 shall be packed in two layers of two each within wood ammu
24、nition boxes as specified on Drawing C8886810. When warheads are shipped as part of a complete unassembled round, packing shall conform to Picatinny Arsenal Drawing 9209570. 5.3 Marking. Marking of unit packages and shipping containers shall be accomplished in accordance with the instructions shown
25、on Drawings F8886811 and C8886810 except that the descriptive nomenclature shall be “Warhead 2.75 inch Rocket, Smoke, WP, M156.“ The container shall be marked with arrows and the word “UP“ in accordance with the requirements of MIL-STD-129. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. This item is intended for use as
26、 a component of an air to ground rocket carried by aircraft. 6.2 Ordering data. Procurement documents should specify the following: (a) Title, number and date of this specification. (b) The proving ground that will proof test the rockets. (c) . The agency that will supply the rocket niotor if suppli
27、er is to assemble rocket motor to warhead. (d) The agency that will assemble the rocket if supplier is not to assemble rocket motor to warhead, (e) Record of proof testing results shall be sent to the Commanding Off i Cer, Edgewood Arsenal ATTN : SMUEA-WME-S , Edgewood Arsenal , Maryland 21 O1 O. 6.
