13、).This guide specification includes tailoring options for RDM, cement or bituminous stabilized OGM, and OGM with choke stone. The notes under Table I should be renumbered accordingly. Selection or deselection of a tailoring option will include or exclude that option in the section, but editing the r

15、1.1 MeasurementDeductions will be made for any material wasted, unused, rejected, or used for the convenience of the Contractor.1.1.1.1 Aggregate Drainage Layer MaterialMeasure the quantity of aggregate drainage layer material, completed and accepted, in cubic meters yards. Determine the volume of a

16、ggregate drainage layer material, in place and accepted, by the average job thickness obtained in accordance with paragraph THICKNESS CONTROL and the dimensions indicated. The choke stone shall be considered as part of the drainage layer thickness and shall not be measured separately.1.1.1.2 Bitumin

17、ous or Cement Stabilized Drainage LayerMeasure the quantity of bituminous or cement stabilized drainage layer material, completed and accepted, in metric 2000 pound tons, excluding the weight of the asphalt or portland cement used in the mix.1.1.1.3 Bituminous MaterialMeasure the quantity of asphalt

18、 cement, used in the bituminous stabilized mix, by the number of liters gallons of material used in the accepted work corrected to liters at 16 degrees C gallons at 60 degrees F in accordance with ASTM D 1250.1.1.1.4 Cementitious MaterialMeasure the quantity of portland cement, used in the cement st

19、abilized mix, by the number of 50 kilogram short hundred-weight (cwt) units of cement used in the accepted work.1.1.2 PaymentThe quantities of drainage layer aggregates and bituminous or cementitious materials, as specified above, will be paid for at the contract unit prices, which will constitute f

20、ull compensation for the construction and completion of the drainage layer, including the test section, and the furnishing of all other necessary labor and incidentals.1.1.3 Waybills and Delivery TicketsSubmit copies of waybills and delivery tickets during the progress of the work. Before the final

35、rainage layer material. Alternate methods may be used if it can be demonstrated in the test section that these methods obtain the specified results.1.3.3 Compaction EquipmentUse a dual or single smooth 10 metric- 2000 lb- tons (min.) vibratory drum roller, which provides a maximum compactive effort

36、without crushing the drainage layer aggregate, to compact drainage layer material.1.3.4 Bituminous Mixing PlantProvide a bituminous mixing plant that is an automatic or semiautomatic controlled, commercially manufactured unit capable of producing a bituminous stabilized aggregate mixture consistent

37、with the job-mix formula (JMF). Drum mixers shall be prequalified at the production rate to be used during full scale operations. Include with the prequalification tests extraction methods in accordance with ASTM D 2172 and recovery of the asphalt cement in accordance with ASTM D 1856. The penetrati

38、on of the recovered asphalt binder shall not be less than 60 percent of the original penetration in accordance with ASTM D 5.1.3.5 Cementitious Mixing PlantProvide a cementitious mixing plant that is an automatic or semiautomatic controlled, commercially manufactured unit capable of producing a ceme

39、nt stabilized aggregate mixture consistent with the job mix formula determined by the Government. Aggregate and cement shall be dry mixed sufficiently to prevent cement balls from forming when water is added.1.4 SUBMITTALS*NOTE: Review submittal description (SD) definitions in Section 01 33 00 SUBMI

40、TTAL PROCEDURES and edit the following list to reflect only the submittals required for the project. Submittals should be kept to the minimum required for adequate quality control.A “G” following a submittal item indicates that the submittal requires Government approval. Some submittals are already

41、marked with a “G”. Only delete an existing “G” if the submittal item is not complex and can be reviewed through the Contractors Quality Control system. Only add a “G” if the submittal is sufficiently important or complex in context of the project.For submittals requiring Government approval on Army

42、projects, a code of up to three characters within the submittal tags may be used following the “G“ designation to indicate the approving authority.
