11、normal accessories, mounted and wired according to the technical specification. The technical specification shall specify whether elements of connection are mated or unmated and if required, specify the number of times they shall be mated or unmated prior to the test. 1) in preparation at the date o

13、e specified : 4 mated or unmated elements of connection, specimen mounting method and wiring definition, number of mating and unmating operations, if applicable, type of preconditioning, degree of severity (duration of conditioning in days), value of direct polarisation voltage, initial measurements
14、, measurements during conditioning, if applicable, methods for final measurements. Apparatus 4.1 The test chamber shall be so constructed that : - the temperature and humidity of the chamber are controlled by sensing devices located at those points where the specimens are installed, - t,hf temperatu
15、re may be maintained at (40 f 2) OC, and the relative humidity at (93,) % at those points where the specimens are installed. The temperature tolerance of f 2 OC is intended to take into account absolute errors in the measurements, slow changes of temperature and temperature variations at those point
16、s where the specimens are installed. - condensed water is continuously drained from the chamber and not used again until it has been repurified. When the humidity conditions are obtained by using an injection-type chamber, the water shall have resistivity greater than 500 0.m. 4.2 Precautions shall
17、be taken to ensure that : - the conditions prevailing throughout the locations where the specimens are installed are uniform and as similar as possible to those prevailing in the immediate vicinity of the monitoring devices, - the properties or loading of specimens under test do not appreciably infl
18、uence conditions within the chamber, - no condensed water from the chamber walls and roof can fall on the specimens. CEN PREN*2591 (PART*C4) 92 W 3404589 0026954 b II 5 Method 5.1 Climatic preconditioning It shall not be less than one hour unless otherwise specified in the technical specification. 5
19、.2 Initial measurements (if applicable) They shall be carried out as specified by the technical specification. 5.3 Procedure 5.3.1 The specimens shall be introduced into the test chamber in the state indicated by the technical specification. When introducing specimens into the chamber, care shall be
20、 taken to avoid the formation of water droplets on the specimens ; this can be done by pre-heating the specimens to the temperature specified for the chamber. 5.3.2 The specimens shall be introduced into the chamber and subjected to the severity rgquired by the technical specification, among the fol
21、lowing : - twenty-one days, - fifty-six days. 5.4 3 Polarisation voltage A direct current polarisation voltage shall be applied to two of the specimens during conditioning. Alternate contacts shall be connected together to form two groups. On specimen No.1, the polarisation voltage shall be applied
22、across the first group of contacts and the second group connected to the housing (shell) and/or the mounting plate. On specimen No.2, the polarisation voltage shall be applied across the second group of contacts and the first group connected to the housing (shell) and/or ta the mounting plate. 5.4 R
23、ecovery Recovery shall be at least one hour, unless otherwise prescribed by the technical specification. 5.5 Final measurements and requirements (if applicable) The specimen shall be subjected to the following test sequence : - EN 2591-86 - Measurement of insulation resistance, - EN 2591-B7 - Voltag
24、e proof test, - EN 2591-BI or EN 259142 - Contact resistance at low level or at rated current, - Mating and unmating forces, -08 -A 1 - Visual examination. - EN259 - EN 259 prEN 2591-C4 Page 5 prEN 2591-C4 Page 6 After exposure, the specimen shall not be mated or unmated until the first measurement of contact resistance. The first two tests shall be carried out immediately after the final recovery period. When required by the technical specification, measurement following EN 259 1 -B6 shall be made while the specimen is still in the test chamber.
